Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • With the smallest size weighing only 24 grams, the Vittoria Air-Liner is very lightweight!
  • When the tyre is inflated, the Air-Liner shrinks; if you should get a puncture that does not get sealed, it goes back to its original size to serve as a shock absorber.
  • Thanks to the special foam formula, the material flexes where needed yet is firm enough to keep your tyre on the rim.
  • In a race, you can continue riding if you have a puncture without damaging the rims. The advantage of tubes now available for tubeless tyres.
  • Perfect fit for your rim and tyre width.
  • This Air-Liner is only compatible with road bike tyres up to 32 mm wide. For wider tyres we recommend the Air-Liner MTB.

Great: trusted drive-through insurance!

- Sjoerd 21 April 2025

20/4 Airliners put on icm Bontrager R3 Hard-Case Lite 700X28C - fits well on rim 21/4 Puncture on 1st ride! Fairly lost tyre pressure, re-inflated air and was able to ride on. Had a similar experience with inserts on gravel bike - a spare inner tube is only limited to one puncture!

Pros & Cons

Easy to lay
Home warranty
Multiple punctures possible
One-piece insert
You do not drive completely flat to the rim
Reasonably priced for some foam tape

For cyclists?

- MDPS 1 July 2024

Mounted with Vittoria corsa pro on Roval rapide clx rims. Installation is not too difficult. But it's not easy to find a tubeless seal. On the other hand, you can forget about the roadside repair and hope that the liner will get you home.

Always be able to ride on, in case of a (very) large hole/tear in your outer tyre.

- John 27 June 2024

Don't want to put an inner tube in a Tubeless tyre (Grease mess) on my wife. So the Insert is a solution. Fitting the Inserts around the Elitewheels Marvel 50V and a Schwalbe Pro One TLE outer tyre was easier than expected. Did use a Tyre Trailer (BTL-78) but without any problems. Tip! Only add Sealant last (i.e. when the tyre is already fitted). Then tested. My wife 50Kg was able to cycle to it just fine (RUSTLY) (call it a "Home Carrier", without damaging the rim). Obviously inconvenient if you still have a long way to go but this is a last resort and I would plug the tyre first. 'Am even of the opinion that you can ride on with a crack in your outer tyre. For the slightly heavier persons it also works but the Insert flexes more but the cheeks of the outer tyre protect your rim, of course you have to ride more carefully, but get home or bike mechanic you will, without having to call the Family to be picked up! Whether it's suitable for races I can't judge but that's not the purpose I use them for.

Pros & Cons

Always ride on
For the slightly lighter people
Was less work than I expected.
Less suitable for the somewhat heavy riders.
Placing new inner tube on the road very difficult.

Useful product for tubeless tires

- Michel 17 April 2023

Tricky to assemble without practice. But with soap, lots of patience and tubeless pliers ( BBB) well to do

Pros & Cons

Always returns home after a puncture
Does not notice anything at full pressure
Safety for tubeless driving
Difficult to remove from the rim
Messy when adding latex
Tubeless pliers are required for mounting

Safety in tubeless riding is the airliner, no doubt ! Leak fluid never saves you.

- Michel 23 October 2022

The ultimate in tubeless riding. The anti-leak fluid does nothing after a few weeks....is diluted or "latexed". Riding on carefully for 20 Km after a big leak is perfectly possible. Some anti-leak fluids make the green sausage small, i.e. its punching effect disappears.....

Pros & Cons

indispensable
modern
secure
certain anti-leak liquid affects it
expensive to buy with useless valve
for the experienced user
