The Scope R4 Disc wheelset is equipped with durable SKF bearings with good sealing and low rolling resistance. The Diamond Ratchet body system is a newly developed engagement system that ensures that the delivered power is transferred to the wheel even faster. The wheels are built on aerodynamic 45 mm deep rims with an external rim width of 28 mm. The pre-mounted tubeless rim tape and tubeless valves allow the R4 Disc wheels to be run tubeless. The wide rim in combination with a wider tubeless outer tyre provides greater comfort, lower rolling resistance and increased puncture resistance. The fact that there is no weight limit for the Scope R4 Disc wheels simply proves they are super sturdy. Scope underlines this with a 3-year warranty and a crash replacement program.
3 Year Warranty
Quality is Scope's number one priority. After registering your wheelset on their website within 30 days of purchase, you activate the 3-year warranty. When registering your wheelset it is necessary to mention the serial number. This can be found on the registration card provided, the wheel box or on the flange of the rear hub.
Lifetime Crash Replacement Programme
Despite its high quality, a Scope wheelset cannot always withstand the consequences of a severe crash. This is why Scope offers a crash replacement programme in addition to the 3-year guarantee. With this programme, Scope gives you the chance to replace the wheel after a crash at a reduced rate.
The rim profile of Scope wheels was developed using Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics (AEA) technology. This algorithm calculates the most aerodynamic rim profile to ensure optimum performance. For the previous generation of Scope wheels, countless hours were spent drawing hundreds of different rim profiles, which were then analysed using CFD in an attempt to find the optimal and most aerodynamic rim profile. This method of trial and error approaches the optimum rather than defining it. Together with Delft University of Technology (NL), an algorithm has been developed that defines the coordinates for the most aerodynamic rim profile. This unique innovation in aerodynamics is called Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics.
Hub system
The Scope hub system has been redeveloped. Proven features such as wide flange spacing (for high lateral stiffness), custom-made oversized (6803/6903) SKF bearings and the tool-free adapter system have remained and have only been refined where possible. In addition to the SKF bearings, CeramicSpeed bearings remain available as an upgrade for the Race series.
Diamond Ratchet Body System
The Diamond Ratchet body system is a newly developed engagement system which ensures that the power delivered is transferred to the wheel even faster. The standard 36T ratchet ring can be exchanged for a 48T ring for an even quicker engagement. Compatible with all groupsets: Shimano, Shimano Micro Spline, Sram XDR, Campagnolo and Campagnolo N3W.
Tubeless system
The geometry of the unique Scope Tubeless System allows for easy fitting, instant inflation, long-lasting pressure and compatibility with all (tubeless) tyres.
Local Reinforcement
With the Local Reinforcement carbon technology the number of carbon layers around the spoke holes on the inside of the rim has been increased. In this way the weight is significantly reduced while maintaining strength and rigidity.
• Tubeless rim tape (pre-installed)
• Tubeless valves (pre-installed)
• 10 speed cassette spacer
• Warranty registration card
• (possibly a torque wrench)
Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.

No excuse.
After long hesitation, I decided to buy a set from Scope. Why the R4 and not the R5: slightly higher rims are only useful when the speed is very high and they are more sensitive to side winds. As I regularly ride in the Flemish Ardennes, the R4 is the perfect choice, even cobblestones are easier to digest. I put 32 tyres on it, which offer a lot of conformity but little rolling resistance. With tyres on, the rim still looks very high so looks nice. After first ride I immediately noticed the difference from the standard alu wheels that used to be on it. Tip: I put gravel tyres on my old wheels, so you get two for the price of one. The Scope wheels cut much sharper in corners and react much more directly when you want to shift gears. Ideal for demoing! You not only feel you're going faster but you're actually going faster. The ratchet is nice and loud, but it can easily be made quieter by lubricating it, which I am certainly not going to do! Why Scope a no other top brands? You're investing in an innovative local company. And for similar specs you won't find wheels at this price and looking this nice. No excuse.

Scope R4 ' Best of both worlds'
I had been looking to upgrade my old wheels (Bontrager elite) for several months and after a lot of research I ended up with Scope wheels. I was hesitating between the R4 and the R5 but am very happy with my choice. - The R4 wheels are light and aerodynamic. Perfect for Dutch roads but light enough to get up a hill well; - Fitting the wheels was smooth and easy; - Steering is sharp and precise and you are not bothered by the wind despite the high rims; - The 'hub sound' is really great, you have to love it; - The R4 scope wheels look great under my Emonda SL6 pro.
