Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • The Scope R4 Disc wheelset is very all-round thanks to its 45mm deep rim and low weight of 1569 grams.
  • Thanks to the Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics technology, the rim is optimised to achieve the optimal and most aerodynamic rim profile.
  • The Diamond Ratchet Body system is extremely light and ensures that the power delivered is transferred to the wheel even faster.
  • Riding tubeless has many advantages: more comfort, lower rolling resistance and better puncture resistance.
  • Scope wheels are developed in the Netherlands in cooperation with Schwalbe, SKF, TU Eindhoven and TU Delft, so high quality is guaranteed.
  • No wheel bags or brake discs are included when buying a wheelset.
  • A body for Sram XDR, Campagnolo or Campagnolo N3W is available separately.

Wonderfully light, sleek wheels.

- Frank 10 September 2025

Lovely light, sleek wheels. Noticeable difference from my previous DT Swiss alu wheels. Attractively priced due to temporary offer (due to arrival of new version). But still a lot of money of course...

Top wheels

- Niels 23 April 2025

Truly a top upgrade compared to the carbon wheels originally in the bike. Runs wonderfully and not too high (45mm) in terms of wind

When in doubt, order!

- Sidrick 10 April 2025

After long hesitation I did order these rims, purely because I wanted more stability at high speed than the standard aluminium wheels. Was also a bit worried that I would suffer a lot from side winds but that is not a problem at all. The wheels roll super, nice and stable and efficient. The speed is more mental and physical than going faster because of the wheels. Do notice that at higher speeds the wheels do roll easier. So if you often cycle above 35km/h, it will really improve your speed. And what I personally like is that you no longer need a bell. So if you have doubts but you have the money I would definitely recommend them.

Pros & Cons

Efficient transmission of power
Noise
Stiffness
Tubeless was not a success, tyres went flat

No excuse.

- Maxime 20 August 2024

After long hesitation, I decided to buy a set from Scope. Why the R4 and not the R5: slightly higher rims are only useful when the speed is very high and they are more sensitive to side winds. As I regularly ride in the Flemish Ardennes, the R4 is the perfect choice, even cobblestones are easier to digest. I put 32 tyres on it, which offer a lot of conformity but little rolling resistance. With tyres on, the rim still looks very high so looks nice. After first ride I immediately noticed the difference from the standard alu wheels that used to be on it. Tip: I put gravel tyres on my old wheels, so you get two for the price of one. The Scope wheels cut much sharper in corners and react much more directly when you want to shift gears. Ideal for demoing! You not only feel you're going faster but you're actually going faster. The ratchet is nice and loud, but it can easily be made quieter by lubricating it, which I am certainly not going to do! Why Scope a no other top brands? You're investing in an innovative local company. And for similar specs you won't find wheels at this price and looking this nice. No excuse.
