Good lamp with a few (serious) flaws

- Micha 19 February 2024

I bought the light because of the good illumination and its compact design for longer overland journeys in the dark ... So much for the plan. The minimum requirements are also perfectly fulfilled, but it gets bad when you actually "pull an all-nighter" (I'm just saying MSR), after just under 110 minutes the beam power was extinguished ... This is not a problem with other lights - connect a power bank and off you go. The Knog Blinder switches off mercilessly when the charging cable is connected. Anyone planning longer night rides should look for an alternative or buy at least two lights. Plugging in the charging cable also proved to be difficult for another reason: after 110 minutes on the highest light level, the body was clearly hot. Unfortunately, I didn't have a thermometer with me, but I wouldn't have wanted to hold the light in my hand. If you are looking for a light for the journey to work and only occasionally need the full luminosity (high beam!), this is a good choice. Anyone planning longer cross-country journeys at night is unlikely to be happy with this model.

Good lamp with sufficient light and unusual holder.

- Ronny 1 December 2023

I've only been using the lamp for a week now, so I don't have any real long-term experience yet. I bought the lamp for two reasons: 1. type of holder 2. good light I particularly like the fact that it can be easily attached under my wahoo mount with the GoPro adapter. The mount sits firmly, nothing wobbles or rattles. The small "quick release" to remove the light from the holder is also very well designed and works perfectly. The lighting effect is flawless. On the highest setting with 900 lumens, a large area in front of the bike is illuminated more than brightly enough. I use it to commute to work every day in city traffic, and the lowest light level is sufficient for this. The lamp does not have a lens to create an appropriate cone of light in front of the bike. It is a large, bright circle of light. I find the various flashing functions unnecessary. Why build something like that into a front headlight? It's still forbidden in Germany anyway and I have lights at the front to be able to see things myself. The flashing is just annoying.
