Description
The Cannondale Trail Freewheel 16 is a light, easy-to-ride bike that requires your child to pedal by itself for the first time. As a parent, you'll often find yourself running along as your little one is having fun practicing cycling on this light kids bike.
Start 'em off right
Riding a bike on your own involves many aspects. Pedalling, being aware of your surroundings, braking, steering. When you're a beginner, all these actions are new to you and come together at once. This is why it is wise to make sure that the bike you're riding leaves nothing to be desired. As Cannondale makes bikes that are always light and stable, you can trust that the handling of this children's bike is optimal. As such, it will help your child practice and gain confidence until the moment arrives when training wheels are no longer required and cycling is an acquired skill.
Any child will benefit from learning to cycle on the Cannondale Trail Freewheel 16. Not only does it help to build skills but it is great fun as well!
The Trail Freewheel 16 has a BMX-like geometry which gives it a cool look. The frame is made of aluminium, as is the fork. The bike's total weight is therefore only 8.9 kg, allowing children to handle it well. The seat post is adjustable in height. The angle of the handlebars can also be adjusted to ensure that your child will not outgrow this bike very soon. The bike comes with training wheels which can be (dis)mounted without using tools. If your child has lost confidence after a fall, you can easily put them back on again.
Wheels & tyres
The 16 inch wheels have tyres with a width of 45 mm. These tyres are comfortable and offer much grip. They are also suitable for different surfaces, so even a gravel or hard dirt path is no problem for this kids bike. The wheels are made of aluminium to ensure the ideal mix of weight and rigidity.
Other features
The V-brakes on the Trail Freewheel 16 teach your child to use hand brakes. They provide plenty of braking power, making this bike very safe. Also with safety in mind, a closed chain guard has been fitted to ensure that nothing can get stuck between the chain and sprockets. The grips and saddle are shaped in such a way that hands and buttocks do not slide off easily. As such, the chances of falling are reduced to a minimum.
