A Solid Choice for Young Riders

- Asif 13 September 2023

I recently purchased the Cannondale Kids Trail 20 for my 8-year-old son, and after several weeks of riding, I'm ready to share my thoughts on this children's bike. Positives; Sturdy Build: The Cannondale Kids Trail 20 is built like a tank, ensuring that it can handle the rough and tumble that kids often subject their bikes to. The frame feels solid, and the bike can withstand minor spills and bumps without any issues. Lightweight Design: The lightweight design of the Cannondale Kids Trail 20 makes it easy for young riders to control and maneuver. This feature is especially important for kids who may be transitioning from smaller bikes. My son found it comfortable to handle, even on longer rides. Excellent Geometry: This bike is designed with kids in mind. The geometry strikes a great balance between comfort and control, making it easy for young riders to handle. It provides a smooth, stable ride, which is essential for building confidence in young cyclists. Negatives; Price: The Cannondale Kids Trail 20 is not the most budget-friendly option on the market. While it offers great quality, it might be a bit expensive for some families, especially when children tend to outgrow their bikes relatively quickly. Lack of Suspension: The Cannondale Kids Trail 20 lacks front suspension, which could make off-road adventures a bit more challenging for young riders. While this isn't a deal-breaker, some may prefer a bike with suspension for added comfort on rough terrain Limited Color Options: This bike offers limited color choices, which might disappoint kids who have specific preferences. It would be nice to see more options to cater to different tastes. In conclusion, the Cannondale Kids Trail 20 is a well-built and reliable choice for young cyclists who are eager to hit the trails and explore the world on two wheels. Its sturdy build, Lightweight design, and excellent geometry make it a great investment for families who prioritize quality over budget considerations. However, potential buyers should be prepared for the relatively high price tag, the absence of suspension, and the limited color options.
