Description

Description

The Shimano RS500 wheelset has undergone a complete transformation to the Shimano Ultegra WH-RS500. The RS500 has the appearance of a very chique wheelset and certainly not that of an entry-level model. Concerning the design, the RS500 fits better in the entire wheels assortment of Shimano. They did not only change the appearance, but the wheelset is also realised with a tubeless rim and tubeless valves to create a lower rolling resistance. With tubeless without inner tubes, you won't get a lot of punctures. You will get more comfort, if you add latex, because you can ride at a lower tyre pressure.

Compatibility

• To be used with Shimano and/or Sram 10/11 speed groupset

Delivery includes

• Shimano RS500 wheels
• Shimano quick releases
• Shimano tubeless valves

Assembly

• Cassette remover Shimano or Campagnolo
• (possibly a torque wrench)

Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.

User tips

• Pay attention to the direction of travel when mounting your tyres.
• For Shimano 9/10-speed, do not forget to mount the spacer first before installing the cassette.
• Rim Tape is not needed in order to run these wheels tubeless.

Solidly made with a reasonable price.

The wheels are sturdily made. They look very nice visually. I mounted them with the Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless Easy tyres. That fits well together. The combination is also tight without milk. However, to be on the safe side, I ride them with milk.
