Experience comfort and safety with the Gazelle e-bike
The Gazelle E-Bike is not just any electric bike. With its powerful Bosch motor and Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub, this bike offers the ideal combination of convenience and performance. Ride carefree around town with the Gazelle E-Bike, equipped with a Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub that ensures smooth shifting. The powerful daytime running lights not only offer optimum visibility, but also increase safety with side visibility. Thanks to the extra-wide tyres and disc brakes, you will enjoy excellent control, whatever the conditions.
Efficient drive with Bosch motor
The Gazelle E-Bike is equipped with a Bosch motor that delivers a maximum torque of 75 Nm. This means you can effortlessly climb hills and take long rides without worrying about fatigue. The motor is quiet and reliable.
Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub
The Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub makes shifting easy and smooth. This technology offers five different gears, so you can always choose the right speed, whether you are cycling around town or taking a longer ride. The hub is low-maintenance, allowing you to spend more time cycling and less on maintenance. This hub is specially designed for powerful electric bikes, due to the reinforcement of the internal parts, you have fewer gears than the Nexus 7 or 8 gear hub but you can be sure that you have a very durable hub for the power of the bike.
Optimum control with disc brakes
Safety is paramount with the Gazelle E-Bike, which is equipped with powerful disc brakes. These brakes offer excellent braking performance in all weather conditions, so you can always brake with confidence. Whether you are riding in the city or on a dirt road, you can count on the optimal control these brakes offer.
Comfortable ride with wide tyres
The extra-wide tyres of the Gazelle E-Bike ensure a stable and comfortable ride. They not only offer traction on different surfaces, but also absorb shocks, so you can enjoy cycling over uneven roads. This makes the Gazelle E-Bike perfect for city rides and longer trips.
The technology of the Gazelle E-Bike is designed to enhance and simplify your cycling experience. Enjoy the benefits of these innovative features while on the move!Review

Great bike for years to come.
Meanwhile, I have made the first ride home (about 25km) with the Gazelle Avignon C5 size 61. I am 188cm myself and sit fine on this bike. As soon as you turn off the motor, it is still fine to ride, but you do notice that it is an electric bike with some resistance. The 4 settings on the bike are very noticeable. I rode the first part in eco mode and then a bit in Tour mode. Personally, I find eco mode a nice mode to ride in, but uphill I prefer to switch to Tour mode and one gear lower. You also have the 'luxury' auto mode, which adjusts the pedal assist while cycling, and Turbo mode. I haven't used the latter two much. You notice with Turbo mode that the bike pulls away like a rocket. In my opinion, not necessary. The large tyres and solid frame make this a reliable bike. On the way, I rode over 2 bridges and I noticed that the bike did have to put in some effort to get over the bridge but it can easily handle it due to its 75nm motor. That was also one of the reasons I chose the Avignon C5. The other reason is the trusted Shimano Nexus hub with five gears especially for electric bikes. Another option was a bike with Enviolo hub, but on various forums and YouTube I soon found out that this hub wears out certain wear patterns in the so-called 'planets' with little shifting, making shifting impossible or more difficult (more difficult). More on this in the YouTube video 'WHEN DOES THE RANGE OF AN ENVIOLO SHIFTING HUB Diminish?' The price of this Enviolo hub is therefore slightly higher in purchase and maintenance. If you want to put the bike away in an NS bike locker, you do have a challenge with size 61 bike. I have since tested that this bike does not fit in very well. The bike is 1 or 2 cm too long for the bike locker, making the door almost impossible to close. As a result, the mudguard will be pushed in slightly by the door. I also have to change the position of the little computer at the top as otherwise it will collide with the top of the locker. This could be solved by adjusting the handlebars, bars or holder. I solved it by pushing the computer backwards. Other than that, I am happy with this bike for now and hope to ride quite a few more kilometres.
