Shimano XT M8100 1X12 Priority Kit Groupset

The Shimano XT M8100 12-speed Priority Kit opens a new chapter for Shimano's mountain bike groupsets. While XTR had already switched to 12-speed, this technology is now also available to a larger group of avid mountain bikers thanks to the XT groupset. Cassette
The Shimano XT M8100 groupset focuses on durability, versatility, and optimum performance in all conditions. The Shimano XT CS-M8100 12 speed 10-51 cassette must be mounted on a Shimano MicroSpline body. By using this body, a '10' can be added to the cassette, making the possible range of gears a lot larger. Also, the cassette has a new cut: Hyperglide +. This new cutting technique allows you to shift gears better when there is a lot of pressure on the pedals and in extreme conditions.

Derailleur
The derailleur has also been adapted to provide fast and smooth shifting in all conditions. The cage has been extended to accommodate a 51 as the largest sprocket. The derailleur has also been given a clutch to prevent the chain from rattling.
The chain has been sharpened with great precision and is made narrower to fit on the 12 speed cassette. As you are used to from an XT chain, this chain has been given an extra coating to increase its durability.

Shifter
The shifter that controls the derailleur is designed to shift as quickly and smoothly as possible. Shimano has achieved this by applying the Rapidfire+ technology. In addition, there is a rubber padding on the shifter arm, which gives you more grip when shifting in wet conditions. Finally, the shifter has more possibilities in the position of the shifter and brake lever thanks to Shimano's I-Spec EV mounting.

Crank
The XT M8120 Crank of this group set is completely redesigned. In line with the latest trends in mountain biking, Shimano has also adopted the direct-mount technique. Thanks to this technique, you can quickly and easily change your gear to adapt it to the terrain on which you are going to ride. The teeth on this chainring are sharpened according to Shimano's 'Direct Chain Engagement' technology. This ensures that the chain stays on the chainring while riding.

Brakes
This Priority Kit comes with the XT M8120 trail double piston brakes. These are equipped with Shimano's Ice-Technology. This technology guarantees good heat dissipation, so you still have enough braking power even in the most extreme conditions. The brake pads and discs are equipped with cooling fins and this has also been taken into account in the choice of materials.
