Shimano Ultegra Disc R8020 Groupset

The Shadow rear derailleur is better protected from external damage because it's aligned underneath the cassette, has a compact design and due to the way the cables of the front derailleur are adjusted, as well as well-dosed braking power in the shifters, powerful braking calipers and a crankset with improved power efficiency and transmission.

Shifters
The Shimano Ultegra R8020 shifter + brake caliper offers an unprecedented well-dosable braking force for descents or fast stretches of road. The shape of the shifters is very similar to the R8050, R8070 and R8000 shifters. They have a short lever stroke, a compact design and excellent braking performance in all conditions.


The Shimano Ultegra R8000 may well be the most striking part of the R8000 groupset. The robust, asymmetric crank arm is derived from the Dura Ace R9100 crankset and provides more efficient crank transmission compared to its predecessor. The crank is also equipped with the HollowGlide technology for the best ratio between weight and maximum rigidity. There is a wide range of different chainring combinations that are also easily interchangeable with a double 53-39T, mid-compact 52-36T, compact 50-34T and the 46-36T for cyclocross use.

Front derailleur
The Shimano Ultegra R8000 front derailleur is the result of the development of the R8000 groupset. Plus, the design doesn't feature an in-line cable tensioner but instead offers adjustment by means of an Allen key, so you can easily and accurately adjust your cable tension.

Rear derailleur
The Shimano Ultegra R8000 rear derailleur is a part of the successor of the popular 6800 groupset. The R8000 is very similar to the R9100 rear derailleur, as this R8000 rear derailleur copies the entire Dura Ace Shadow design, including complete protection under the cassette. This is a huge advantage for people who ride in groups in which a rear derailleur breaks sometimes. The rear derailleur is supplied in a short cage (SS) design for 11-25T up to 11-30T and a long cage (GS) design for 11-28T up to 11-34T cassettes.
