Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • On this cassette your derailleur will also change gears under great pressure.
  • This cassette has a lower weight than cassettes from a lower price segment because lighter materials have been used.
  • This cassette is more wear-resistant than cheaper cassettes because a better quality coating has been applied.
  • This cassette is slightly heavier than cassettes from a higher price segment because slightly cheaper materials have been used.
  • This cassette will eat into your freehub faster than an HG500 cassette because this 105 cassette only has the first 3 sprockets on a spider.

Description

Description

This Shimano 105 5700 10-speed cassette offers excellent value for money and is suitable for Shimano 10-speed gear systems. The teeth have been specially designed to make gear changing even faster.
The largest sprockets are mounted on a lightweight aluminium spider, which makes the cassette lighter without compromising rigidity. A nickel coating makes this cassette more wear-resistant and durable.

Don't forget the assembly grease!

User tips

How often should I clean my bike? Regular cleaning ensures that your material lasts longer and that you can enjoy your cycling for longer. How often you need to clean depends very much on the weather conditions in which you ride. Do you ride in all kinds of weather, or only go out when the sun is shining? This affects the degree of wear and tear, and therefore some people will have to clean their bikes more often than others. Use the schedule below as a guide:

October to March:
• Clean every 200 km
• Rinse after every ride
• Dry and oil the chain after every ride
• Leave the bike to dry at room temperature

April to September:
• Clean every 300 km
• Rinse after cycling in the rain
• Dry and oil the chain after polishing or rinsing
• Leave the bike to dry at room temperature

The Shimano 105 5700 s great kit

- Andrew 28 December 2020

I’ve bought a new 105 5700 cassette after riding many miles on the previous. It always shifted well, so I went for a direct replacement, no need to go looking for another make or a cheaper Shimano.

Pros & Cons

Comes in a range of sizes
Works really well with 5700 shifters

Great product delivered promptly

- Andrew 20 December 2020

Love these cassettes. Wanted identical cassettes on wheel and direct drive trainer so indexing wouldn’t need adjusting.

Good spec cassette for 10 speed bikes

- Troy 13 December 2020

Can’t go wrong with the 105 cassette, works just as well as the more pricey Ultegra and Mantel were one of the few places still to stock them

Good price on hard to get item

- Mike 8 December 2020

105 10 speed cassettes are hard to obtain today (end 2010) so to find stock, and at a good price is great
