The Scott Scale 930 has a typical cross country look inspired by Scott's competition models. The low handlebars and relatively long top tube provide a fast position on the bike. The 29-inch wheels have been the most popular choice for a new mountain bike for years. These larger wheels roll effortlessly over all kinds of obstacles. Completing the picture is Schwalbe's Racing Ray front tyre and Racing Ralph rear tyre. The Ray has plenty of grip, making it ideal for steering on all kinds of surfaces. The Ralph is a bit smoother and helps you accelerate smoothly.
FOX 32 Float Rhythm Grip fork
The FOX 32 Float Rhythm Grip fork does what it stands for. It delivers excellent performance in all conditions. Curvy singletracks and the occasional big jump are handled smoothly. The striking design gives a tough look. The fork has three different positions that you control from your handlebars: Fixed for when you are sprinting or just for asphalt, medium for things like gravel strips and open for the real singletracks and heavy work.
Reliable components
In the forest, you need to react quickly to obstacles and elements appearing on the trail. You therefore expect great precision and speed from your equipment. The Shimano XT derailleur and the Shimano Deore cassette absolutely meet these requirements. The cassette is made of steel and lasts a long time even in muddy conditions. The gearing of 10-51 is more than enough to get up the steepest climbs. Together with the Shimano SLX 32 tooth crankset, you can always find the right gear.

Great
I had a feeling before buying that I would be slightly ahead in terms of specs (Trek Xcaliber 9 2021). But wow what a world of difference. So fast, agile and tight steering. Like having an electric motor on board.... :-).
Pros & Cons

Beautiful, fast mtb with good components at a great price
Normally I do my mileage on the road, but wanted to see if mtb'ing would be something for me. During the first kilometres, I was already surprised by the speed on tarmac, especially when using the lock-out, the power transfer is very good. On the dirt, you can open the fork partially or fully, depending on your surface; ideal to always have the right ratio between comfort, traction and power transmission. On the trail, this bike is therefore very fast, at least a lot faster than this rider can technically handle at the moment ;) Otherwise, a nicely finished bike that doesn't weigh too much. In time, I will replace the Deore level wear parts (chain and cassette) for some better parts. But all in all just a very good bike for this price. Very happy with it and already had a lot of fun on/with it!
