Beautiful, but not worth the price

- Mathijs, 24 July, 2024

I bought this bike a year and a half ago because I was looking for a very robust city bike without any problems. However, it does disappoint a bit. - The rear mudguard is not properly aligned so I get a streak of mud across my back - The tyre cover is mounted in such a way that it moves easily and sticks after a small tap - Light cannot be switched off even during the day - The gear cable, despite being internally concealed and the bike being kept inside 99% of the time, is already split in half after a year and a half - The brake cable also already looks like it will give up soon All these problems I haven't had with bikes half the price so soon after purchase

Pros & Cons

Cycles smoothly
Looks beautiful
Badly mounted
Poor cabling
The light is always on

Quality bike that invites cycling.

- Tim, 13 December, 2023

A very nice bike for daily rides to work (2x30 minutes) and around my home town. The low weight, belt (instead of chain) and high-quality finish make for a light and noiseless ride. On bumpy roads with cobblestones, for instance, nothing rattles. The front fork suspension is fine, I would have preferred slightly thicker tyres on it (e.g. Schwalbe road cruisers) for a bit more cushioning and stability in bends, but of course you can still do that. I (gentleman, 190 cm) wanted a women's frame because of the dismount with a child on the back and this was one of the few brands with a large enough frame size. The finish is done with attention, but this makes it a minor eyesore that the cables on the handlebars hang just in front of the headlight. The integrated lighting in the head tube flashes at lower speeds. Otherwise no problem, the lighting is fine and nice, it's details that stand out on this bike. The high price made me hesitate, but it was well worth it. This bike invites you to cycle!

Pros & Cons

Adjustable handlebars (upright to sporty)
Attention to detail
Cycles light and quiet
Feels solid and refined at the same time
Women's frame in large size (59 cm)
Front lighting
Narrow luggage carrier
Tyres a little too narrow (personal)

Great bike

- Rob, 10 February, 2023

Very nice bike; in many conditions it behaves as you expect. Very nice around town and for taking a ride. Note the sizing; Koga's body height does not match Mantel's. I have a 57cm frame (according to invoice), but it is an XL frame. Fortunately, I was well advised in the store.

Pros & Cons

Agile
Beautifully finished
Light in weight
Nexus and no Alfine
