Double Vectran protective layer
Vectran is an extremely strong synthetic fibre that, here, is incorporated in two layers beneath the tread. This provides excellent puncture protection against sharp objects such as glass or small stones, without making the tyre unnecessarily heavy.
Why two layers instead of one?
A single protective layer is already sufficient to stop most sharp objects, but with a double Vectran layer, the chance of a sharp object piercing through both layers is significantly reduced. Continental uses this construction on tyres specifically designed for reliable everyday use, such as the commute, where a puncture en route is the greatest inconvenience. The trade-off is that the tyre's rolling resistance is slightly higher than with a lighter, less protected racing tyre, but this really is the only drawback for this tyre.
DuraSkin sidewall protection
This reinforcement is located in the tyre's sidewall, where most protective layers beneath the tread cannot reach. It protects against external cuts from skidding along kerbs, for example.
4 Season compound
Continental has developed this rubber compound to ensure grip on wet and cold surfaces in any season, in contrast to summer-specific compounds which become stiffer and less grippy at low temperatures.
- Road bikes and hybrid bikes with rims compatible with 28 inch (622) tyres;
- Commute and leisure rides where reliability and puncture protection are more important than minimal rolling resistance.
- Tubeless use – this tyre is not tubeless-compatible;
- Purely competitive use where you are looking for the lowest possible rolling resistance.
- Install the tyre in the direction of rotation indicated on the sidewall.
- Use an inner tube that matches the chosen width (23, 25, 28 or 32 mm).
- If you are unsure about fitting the tyre, have a professional bike mechanic do it.
- Check the tyre regularly for cuts or embedded debris, even though the DuraSkin layer offers extra protection.
- Replace the inner tube if you have a puncture, or use a repair kit when you are away from home.

An excellent autumn and winter tyre
An excellent tyre for training rides in the autumn and winter. During the summer, I use different, faster tyres.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
An excellent tyre for commuting, amongst other things
They have slightly higher rolling resistance than, for example, the GP5000, but the latter is more of a racing tyre, whereas the 4 Seasons is more of an all-rounder, and it performs very well in that role, as the first puncture didn’t occur until after 1,800 km, and even then, it was caused by riding on unsuitable terrain (a broken-up road, lots of stone chippings). It also sits well on the rim.

A great tyre, definitely worth the price
I’ve been doing this for several years now, covering over 5,000 km a year – I’d never go back to anything else
Pros & Cons

Même si la gomme est un peu dure le pneu garanti beaucoup de km
Je conseil ce pneu pour sa résistance et convient comme son nom l'indique pour les 4 saisons

I highly recommend this product, despite its greater weight.
I've always been happy with these tyres.
