Description
The Wolf Tooth Elliptical Direct Mount SRAM oval chainrings are designed to fit SRAM direct mount 3-bolt MTB cranksets. Thanks to the Wolf Tooth's oval chainring, the dead point in your pedal stroke is eliminated. The point where the force is the smallest, the chainring is immediately lifted over the dead point. Wolf Tooth's patented design means a slightly (10%) less oval shape with a less aggressive position (112°) than competitors' variants.
While an oval chainring hardly affects ride feel, it certainly has big advantages in terms of power transfer. Especially during climbing. An oval chainring's diametre is equivalent to that of one that has 2 more teeth at the point where you can put most toque on your pedals for the best power transfer. You have the advantages of multiple chainrings in one! The narrow-wide tooth profile prevents your chain from slipping off the front chainring.
