The Trek Émonda SL 6 Disc is a great allround road bike with superb handling.
As with the rest of the Émonda series the frame is built to keep the weight low, so it climbs wel. The Émonda SL6 is decked out with disc brakes, so it does not only climb wel, but is fit to take on descents as well. The mounting position of the disc brakes gives the front and back fork more room for wider tyres, exponentially increasing comfort. Making the Émonda SL 6 Disc suited to more than just smooth asphalt.
The lightweight and stiff frame,makes the bike react superbly to changes in speed, after turns, in a sprint or uphill.
But where the Émonda SL6 really excels, are the rides in poor conditions and rapid descents where you can make full use of the Shimano Ultegra disc brakes. These brakes are extremely metered and offer lots of braking power. The accompanying Ultegra shifter has a neat shape and performs at a very high level. Additionally, the Bontrager Paradigm wheel set is of a higher level than most sets that come with bikes in this price range. Their wide rim has an easy time supporting the 28 mm tyre, granting optimal steering performances.
