Stiff, strong, light. The Sram XX1 Eagle 12-speed carbon cranks with Direct Mount chainrings isn't the weapon of choice for many a Olympic athlete without reason! In order to create the best possible drivetrain, Sram has completely redesigned the XX1 crankset. Everything from the internal structure to the shape of the chainrings has been optimised to work best with the 12-speed drive train.
X-Sync 2 is Sram's term for the latest version of the narrow-wide tooth profile. The teeth have been made taller and fitted with steeper slanting in all directions. This should make the chain engage on the teeth more quietly and reduce friction under extreme chain lines.
