The core of this mountain bike is its lightweight aluminium frame, which gives you good handling and responsive steering. As the cables are integrated into the frame, they are well protected from dirt and last longer. In off-road riding, comfort is very important. This is why Scott has fitted a Suntour fork with lock-out. The lock-out allows you to adjust the suspension travel while riding. After all, you don't need the same degree of suspension on every surface. The lock-out allows you to adjust the suspension travel to the surface for most efficient cycling.

For gear shifting, the Scott Aspect 940 has the Shimano Alivio group. You see this group on many entry-level mountain bikes, and it performs as you would expect of it. You have 18 gears to choose from, and with the 11/36 cassette they give you a large gearing range, allowing you to climb even the steeper gravel sections with ease. For braking, the bike has Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, which deliver high braking power and are easy to modulate. When going fast on a wet stretch of gravel, you can rely on the excellent performance of these disc brakes.
