Bought this combination. I cycle mainly on MTB routes in NL. The Barzo has a lot of profile and therefore a lot of grip, too much grip for me, which makes you feel slowed down when XC MTB at speed. I have since replaced the Barzo for a Mezcal. So now front and rear Mezcal. This is the finest combo I have ridden. Fast, agile, plenty of grip on twisty single tracks. Just lovely. Great value for money. The combo works really well, top performance and grip on wet and dry surfaces. Be careful on the mud I think a mount with two barzo would be the top.

A safe bet for many years.

Skinwall tyres look very good. There is a lot of grip with the front wheel the rear wheel has a lot of traction through this combination, high speeds are perfectly possible.

Meanwhile, it has done enough kilometres in the Netherlands and in the German alps to know that this set more than lives up to its expectations. Top grip and nice fast tyre set.

First rode with Racing Ray/Ralph on Cube. Now tried these (2.25 wide) on Bulls Wild Creed to replace heavy tractor tires (reinforced 2.40). Saved a total of 1.4 kg per 2 tires! I've been cycling on singletrack Hill Ridge for 2.5 years now and after a few weekends can't really pinpoint where the difference is with Ray/Ralph. I think I'm an average rider (with still plenty of ambition to learn to ride better). So maybe if you belong to the same user target group, you will be fine with these tires as well. I chose them partly because they have light sidewalls and were a few tens cheaper per set (and available right away).

Was used to Maxxis Ikon tires. This combo surpasses the Maxxis tires. Barzo gives you a lot of confidence both in bad weather and good weather (with loose sand). The Mezcal is very fast and has a lot of grip during braking. I tested them in all conditions on the MTB route Montferland. Recommended.

I have been using them for several years and except for the odd scare with the barzo in the rain, I would say they are the perfect combination.

Great idea to combine the Mezcal and the Barzo. I mounted the Barzo in front for better grip on all terrains and more precise trajectories. With the Mezcal mounted at the rear, the performance is better.

Until you get the hang of them they are very difficult to assemble, you need a good dismountable, if you can't assemble on one side try the other (if not it's impossible).

Leaked after 5 km. Maybe just bad luck. Normally I ride tubeless now with an inner tube however on this bike no tubeless ready rim.

I was looking for a slightly faster tyre than the oem Maxxis Forekaster tyres that were on my new mtb. The grip of the barzo and the low rolling resistance of the mezcal make a balanced combination, so far I have not been surprised, even in very wet and muddy conditions. Tubeless fitting is child's play by the way, effortless with an ordinary floor pump and even without latex it is almost completely airtight!

Great tyre, went from a set of trail tyres to these xc tyres. Grip is the same, only speed increases markedly. Laying on the rim was very smooth for me (Roval Control).

First had the Schwalbe RaRa icm Thunder Burt, but these Vittorias are a difference of night and day. What incredible confidence these tyres give.

Although I knew that this tyre combo is not recommended for wet conditions they really did not disappoint me 100% here in the slippery and autumnal polder clay. Other types will be better at this but I am very satisfied. Because the eye wants something too, I chose the Skinwalls. Skinwalls are a bit stiffer than I was used to (from Schwalbe) and that has the advantage that at the same tyre pressure there is less chance of a Snakebite. Putting them on the rim did take a bit more effort. Soon I'm going to make them tubeless. See how that works out.

With the Barzo front and the Mezcal rear, you have a very good combo in many conditions. The Barzo front is a real steer tyre and gives great grip in corners etc. The looks complete it all. However, mounting is a disaster! Both tyres are very difficult to get on the rim (Roval Control).

Original fitment, 2' set of tyres, metzal top rear tyre, central tread performing well on dry terrain. In muddy conditions, under-inflate the tyre for better grip when mounted.
