Simplicity and efficiency
When you don't have the budget for a pair of traditional wheels or carbon wheels, this Shimano wheelset really does seem to be the best compromise in aluminium. You'll find everything you're looking for in a gravel wheelset: modern standards such as thru axles, sufficient width and the solidity you're looking for, as well as a very low weight that allows you to keep your responsiveness. These are truly well thought-out wheels at a very attractive price, for an all-round bike that will be equally at home on the trails or the roads, and with a sober design.

Beautiful, inexpensive wheels
I took the plunge thanks to a special offer on the Mantel.com website and I'm glad I did! It's a real change from my original wheels, especially when it comes to relaunching. They're lighter but just as solid, which is what I was looking for. They live up to the reputation of the shimano grx groupset.

No-nonsense wheelset with little to complain about.
Nice tight wheelset on which gravel tyres fit well without bulging too much, thanks to the wide construction. Whereas the wider (TLR) tyres on narrower wheel sets are sometimes difficult to fit, this is not a problem with this wheel set. Extra nice is that the axles use an 'old-fashioned' cup and cone bearing, making maintenance very easy to do yourself. Considering the intended use of these wheels, this is very nice; a cleaning and lubrication job in due course is enough to enjoy them for a long time. In this price range, the weight is very acceptable. The price, build quality and ease of maintenance make this a perfect upgrade set to the standard wheelset found on many gravel bikes.

Unbeatable for the price
Maybe not the most beautiful and lightest wheels on the market. But the price/performance ratio is unbeatable!

Reliable gravel wheelset that works
I have ridden about 1500km with the wheels so far and have not spared them. Rain, mud, downhill at 70km/h over forest paths with deep washes, gravel.... and they run and run and run. They were not 100% centred when I received them, but they ran perfectly round. I re-centred them myself and since then everything is perfect. The width is sufficient for 700x50C tyres without any problems. The tubeless set-up also worked straight away. The fact that you can clean and grease the bearings yourself and adjust the bearing play is a huge advantage over others in my opinion. There are "hipper" ones but these work reliably. Shipping with coat was super fast!

I recommend it.
I lack experience but so far I think the rims are superb. Rigid and light as I was looking for. Shimano is quality I recommend. I just find the packaging a bit plain.

Nice wheels for rides through the woods
Bought these rims to quickly switch between road and gravel. Rims look nice and roll smoothly. Due to the wide inner size, the 33mm Vittoria Terreno's come out as 35mm. Tubelessing was reasonably easy, although a pressure vessel was needed. Only downsides are that the body has quite a bit of play, I believe this is a Shimano thingy... Rim tape was not glued properly, so it started to come off.

quality and price correct.attention on 11vitesses.
I'm very pleased with the quality of the wheel and the delivery time. the wheel didn't fit well on my sunrace 11 speed cassette, a lot of play even with a good tightening.i hadn't seen the spacer ring for 11 speed cassette.i had to go to my bike shop. the instructions lack detail.

Like having a new bike.
When the bearings of the standard wheels on my Cube-cross bike gave out, I replaced the wheels with these Shimano ones. As the wheels are prepared for tubeless riding and the valves are already included, I immediately fitted the existing tyres tubeless. The improvement was immediately noticeable. The bike feels more nimble, is more comfortable, has more grip and steers more tightly. As if it goes through the forest on rails. Above all, the wheels are lighter than the previous set. Beyond that, I can't pinpoint what explains the success: the wheels or the switch to tubeless. Whereas I was initially annoyed that the standard wheels had failed, I now feel it is a huge improvement and I have more fun with my bike. And highly recommended!

Highly recommended
Now a year and a half on the road on this wheelset, bought as a nice offer. I find the original price of around 500 euros quite high but they are increasingly being offered for just over half. As is often the case with Shimano, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. The individual parts may not be very startling, the combination yields an excellent wheelset. Not too heavy, especially when you compare the wheels to standard Cube RA08 CX wheels, and the stiffness is fine too. The freewheel fortunately doesn't make too much noise. Also nice is that the wheels come standard with tubeless rim tape and rim-specific valves. Tubeless mounting of a set of Mavic Allroad XLs is very easy, moreover, even without anti-puncture fluid the whole thing is actually already airtight. Just to be sure, put some 'milk' in anyway and then it's great cycling, highly recommended.
