Good quality, Dutch roots, nice wheels

- Bas, 5 November, 2023

I use the bike and wheels for commuting and recreational. First ride with these Scope wheels and Schwalbe G-One bite 55 is perfect. First a 4km stretch of asphalt towards a gravel/mountain bike route goes surprisingly fast, faster than with my old Dt-Swiss GR1600 (perfect gravel wheels by the way but the upgrade to Carbon had been on my shoulder for a while). On the mountain bike route, I notice that the wheels are much more direct and I notice this especially when coming out of a corner. The time on the mtb route is faster than 2 days earlier while my legs didn't feel as good today. Optically they are beautiful wheels, so my bike and wheels don't need fancy stickers. The high 42mm rim completes my bike. In short, top wheels.

Very nice, beautiful wheels with a good value for money.

- Henny, 23 October, 2023

After my cycling buddy bought these wheels a few months, I knew: "I want these too!". After saving up for a while, I finally ordered the carbon Scope S4A (42 mm high) tubeless-ready wheels. For a good comparison, I put the Continental 28 mm GP 5000 with inner tubes on them that I also rode with the old wheels. The tyres fall nicely into the 21 mm inner width of the rim. It gives the bike a much nicer, tougher look and let's be honest, 'the eye wants something too'! By now I've been able to do a few rides which included a lot of testing (climbing, descending, turning and turning, up the dyke at speed) and haven't noticed any negative issues. The wheels run nicely, climbing seems a bit easier, turning on after a turn is a direct hit and especially above 30 km per hour you maintain the speed reasonably easily. In crosswinds they are more sensitive than the (standard 32 mm high) wheels I had but not annoyingly so. There's a nice rattle in them when you hold your legs still, which can then do its job as a bell. Absolutely no regrets about this purchase, too bad the bike is going into winter storage soon. In the end, though, no matter how much you invest in your bike, the legs have to do the job, of course.
