Very satisfied, meets expectations

I was looking for an e-bike with good value for money and quickly arrived at this bike. There is no other bike in this price range with disc brakes, a powerful motor, etc.... After a short test ride, I bought two - one for myself and one for my partner. On its own, it really is a great bike for the money. If you want a simple city bike for little money, this is an okay option. Again for 1400 Euros, there are really no other options (if you want disc brakes). But. two weeks after our purchase, we traded in both bikes. These are our reasons: - The gentlemen at Mantel disagree with us here, and advised us otherwise, but our experience is that this bike is absolutely NOT suitable for a child seat on the back. The side stand is not sturdy enough for that, and very importantly - other more stable stands do NOT fit this bike. So putting a child on the bike and getting off is a drama. We even had to buy an adaptor to get the seat on - the gentlemen at Mantel were not aware of this either. - The Bafang M300 mid-motor is powerful in itself and okay for the money. BUT the fact that there is no torque sensor on it means that this bike cycles very unnaturally. You get 0% or 100% of the power based on the movement of the crankset. The motor only goes to 25km/h on the highest setting. On the lower settings, the motor stops at 20km/h or even lower. This is quite annoying. - The frame of the e-Foss is very weird - it wobbles tremendously. It's just not rigid or stable. The guys at Mantel agree with us here, though. - You can see on the e-Foss that money has been saved everywhere. All the components are the cheapest that there are. We were not bothered by this but you might notice it over time. In the end, we found it too dangerous to ride this bike with our toddler. Then we looked at the Cortina 'family' bike (with Bosch Active Line Plus), did a test ride and it was a breath of fresh air! This one costs 1000 Euros more, and that's a lot of money, but is then also super stable with child behind AND I must say that the Bosch system cycles MUCH nicer. Feels responsive, natural and very powerful. Luckily, we could just trade it in (thanks Mantel!). So my advice would be - if you are considering the e-Foss, also do a test ride of a perhaps slightly more expensive alternative with e.g. Bosch system. It might also be worthwhile for you to save a little longer anyway and buy a really nice bike that makes you happy. If you really have very little money AND you don't have a child who has to ride on the back, then with the e-Foss you do have a special bargain for 1400 Euros and will probably be ok with that.

I really like the bike, I use it daily for commuting and the battery lasts for 5 days. Other than that, good value for money. I definitely recommend it!

I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm satisfied ie it does what it's supposed to do.... But long rides of 45+ km or uphill, it's not made for that.

The bike is a big disappointment. In cold weather, the battery is dead after only 20 km even though I just put the battery inside. In normal weather & little wind, the battery is dead after only 35 km. Bike looks nice, but wiring and chain case let go right away, as soon as you leave the shop.

Super nice bike, with a sporty look. I have cycled a lot on it and can't think of any downsides. I had a crate fitted so the basket for the dog can be put in, and then he can also enjoy the bike. And the dog enjoys it just as much!

Owned for 2 weeks now and already done a lot of miles. Very nice bike with sporty look. Battery is very economical if you use the support normally. Usually have it on 4 or 5, at support 9 you hardly have to do anything. Not expensive compared to other e-bikes. And really a lovely bike for many miles. Only standard is a bit less. Small detail.

A wonderful bike that gives enough power to get you everywhere. On the maximum setting, the battery runs down a bit quickly. Buying a battery with more capacity with it would be a recommendation.

For this price a complete electric bike with powerful mid motor and rim brakes. Here and there some concessions have been made to parts. After a few weeks the front brake rattled when braking. The culprit were the hard brake pads with the sharp edges sticking to the brake disc. Was neatly resolved by mantle. Very correct, fast and friendly service by Mantel! A suspension fork and seat post would be a nice addition to this bike.

Purchased this ebike last month to make my daily commute (10 km) a little easier. Across two bridges and into the wind? Nowadays I whistle to work without a sweaty back. Nice and luxurious on the one hand, but on the other hand a pity that I don't burn any calories. The bike is stable, and the motor is powerful. Almost too powerful, because cycling away standing still with high assist gives a big push. The battery lasts a long time (100 km is easily achieved), the brakes are strong and powerful, and the bike feels comfortable so far. The lack of suspension/damping isn't there, so I'm happy with that. All in all, one of the best things I've purchased this year that I can hopefully enjoy for several years to come. I liked the bike so much that my partner bought it too! Thanks Mantel!

It was a good surprise for me to see how light and efficient it is, and how well it goes even when there is no electrical assistance. I have bought this bike mainly for commute, which is about one way 10km for me. Personally, I find the distance just on the line between regular and e-bike. So, I was not sure whether to get an e-bike or stick with a regular one. With the regular one tough, it can get annoyingly sweaty and long ride when there is headwind or some mornings simply I may not be that motivated to cycle 10km with my own power. This bike fitted beautifuly to me for this purpose! Mornings I can go to work with electric motor without any sweat or without a worry to be late. On the other hand I mostly use the bike back from work or with the casual trips without electrical assistance. Simplicity of this bike makes it light and efficient for this kind of mixed use! It has 9 different assistance levels and 8 speeds. Doesn't hurt, but I don't see the point. Because I usually either use assistance 9 or 0, and just several speeds. The frame and mechanical parts feel quite robust and solid. However I wish I could say the same for some other parts. The plastic cover for the chain cracked from several places just after 2 weeks of use! The wiring of the front and rear lamps also seem to be the cheapest. Overall, important parts feel has a good quality.

Purchased this affordable e-bike recently. Very happy with it. Is a bit more work than cycling away with a 'normal' bike (watch the battery, always lock it very well, turn on the computer). But once you are riding it is great! Cycling has become even easier now. I take the bike even more often now.
