Bontrager RXL 29er Tubeless Rim Strip
4 / 5
Plug and play!
Fine rim strip that fits well with Bontrager wheel. Tip: do place it with the valve together. Then the valve will see right away. Once you have placed the strip, you cannot move it if you have gone a few mm over the valve hole. Want to take it off? Then use an M8 bolt and carefully insert it through the valve hole and remove the strip.

Fits in rim like a glove.
Bought these for my bontrager AT-650 rims these are not listed as compatible so it was a gamble. These fit the rim perfectly but do make a very tight fit of the tyre. Am curious to see how it will be when the tyre has to come off.

Top product, fits perfectly and no hassle with tubeless tape
I came across these strips by chance, specifically for Bontrager Mustang Elite TLR rims. I had already done a tubeless conversion using the Schwalbe kit with self-adhesive tubeless tape. However, that was not easy to get closed and the tyre also lost pressure quite quickly (after a few days of pumping). This is partly because my Bontrager rims have an asymmetrical seat and "offset spoke bed", making it very difficult to get closed with tape. So I just fitted these Bontrager strips and what a difference! Fits perfectly and was immediately tight (even with non-TLR Schwalbe tyre). It took some searching to select the right type of strip, but the Trek website has a list of compatible rim strips per type of rim. The comments also have answers from Trek itself, so was pretty sure they would fit. I fitted them with Schwalbe tubeless valves I already had and that seems to work well (Bontrager recommends Bontrager valve with round base).
