In addition to navigating you from A to B flawlessly, the Edge 1040 Solar is the best training partner you could wish for. All the data you need during training or competition is displayed in real time on the customisable data panels. Training sessions and workouts can be synced to your Edge 1040 Solar from Garmin Connect or via TrainingsPeaks. The Edge also offers daily training suggestions based on your training load and personal VO2 max. The Garmin ClimbPro function helps you to distribute your energy perfectly during a climb, and MTB Dynamics gives you insight into your flow and jumps while riding the trails. Do you sometimes forget to eat and drink during your ride? The Garmin Edge 1040 Solar gives you notifications during your activity to ensure that you're well fed and hydrated at all times.

Navigation
The pre-installed cycling maps ensure that the navigation always works and that you will never take a wrong turn again. Turn-by-turn navigation provides clear directions on your route, and even gives you a warning if there's an unexpectedly sharp turn ahead. What a great safety feature! You can let the Garmin calculate a route itself, or easily upload existing .gpx routes via the Garmin Connect app.
