The Fizik Aliante R1 saddle is part of the further developed Spine Concept. Before, this just looked at the flexibility of your spine, but now it takes the way you ride into consideration as well. The rotation of your pelvis is essential to determine whether a saddle suits your needs or not. There's now both a Regular (143 mm) and Large (152 mm) version available of the Fizik Aliante R1. The faster you ride, the lower the pressure gets on the saddle, requiring less surface area for support.
The Fizik Aliante R1 saddle was made for the so-called Bulls. The Bull is a rider who's spine isn't overly flexible. Their power is best transferred to the pedals in a slightly more upright position. The seat bones therefore also require a little extra support. The Bull is probably best off with the equally named and extremely compact Cyrano Bull bars and the wider Aliante saddle. The Fizik Aliante R1 is one of the lightest and most rigid saddles in the Aliante collection because of the carbon shell with Wing Flex technology and the Carbon Braided rails.

La selle idéale pour moi
J'avais une vento argo R3 installée d'origine sur mon vélo (selle de très bonne qualité et très confortable au début mais l'évidement trop large pour moi me causait quelques douleurs après 1h de vélo). J'ai donc changé pour la série Aliante R car j'avais déjà une autre selle Aliante que je trouvais super confortable. J'ai suivi les conseils de Fizik et je suis un Bull selon les principes du spine concept. Résultat cette selle Aliante me convient parfaitement, je peux rouler des heures sans sentir aucune douleur.

Nice saddle
This saddle is light and it looks good. 4-5 hours ride is ok with a good pair of bibs. Hard, but not uncomfortable. Buy if the form fits you, and be sure to measure your sit bones. The Aliante 00 may look a little 'cleaner' and is 10 grams lighter, but also firmer. Consider the R3 as well, if you can live with the extra weight - just as good as the R1. Mantels 'try & return' policy is great!

Reteblij met mijn nieuwe Fizik Aliante R1 zadel!
Heerlijk zadel. Mooi afgewerkt wat ik van Fizik gewend ben (het is mijn 5e al). Alleen nog een blikje transparante ledervet kopen want het geborstelde leer heeft echt wat extra bescherming nodig. Keurige verpakking en duidelijke gebruiksaanwijzing.

Confort moyen
Pour l'instant les 2 sorties de 75 kms réalisées ne n'ont pas convaincues du confort de cette selle .Nous sommes très bien posé sur celle ci mais qu'elle est dure. J'appréhende une sortie beaucoup plus longue
