Fizik Aliante R1 Saddle

The Fizik Aliante R1 saddle is part of the further developed Spine Concept. Before, this just looked at the flexibility of your spine, but now it takes the way you ride into consideration as well. The rotation of your pelvis is essential to determine whether a saddle suits your needs or not. There's now both a Regular (143 mm) and Large (152 mm) version available of the Fizik Aliante R1. The faster you ride, the lower the pressure gets on the saddle, requiring less surface area for support.

The Fizik Aliante R1 saddle was made for the so-called Bulls. The Bull is a rider who's spine isn't overly flexible. Their power is best transferred to the pedals in a slightly more upright position. The seat bones therefore also require a little extra support. The Bull is probably best off with the equally named and extremely compact Cyrano Bull bars and the wider Aliante saddle. The Fizik Aliante R1 is one of the lightest and most rigid saddles in the Aliante collection because of the carbon shell with Wing Flex technology and the Carbon Braided rails.

Saddle shape
This saddle has a round rear part, making it ideal for riders who move around on the saddle and rock their pelvis from side to side while riding. The round shape provides some extra freedom of movement over a flat one.

Flexibility
This is an S-shaped saddle, meaning it's raised at the rear and lowered in the middle. This S-shape makes it possible for riders with an inflexible back to still assume an aggressive position on the bike. This has to do with the rotation of your pelvis. Someone with an inflexible spine will have more trouble tilting their pelvis forward.

Carbon Braided Rails
The carbon braided rails are full carbon saddle rails wrapped in a carbon mat to increase rigidity and ensure the saddle can't shift accidentally.

Wing Flex Technology
By adding a slight amount of flex to the side panels of the saddle, Fizik has increased the comfort significantly. The Wing Flex technology creates a little extra space for your legs, allowing you to put out more power with more ease.

ICS: Integrated Clip System
You can attach a FiZik Saddle Bag or Light to the rear of the saddle with the integrated clip system (saddle bag/light not included).
