Description
The Cannondale Mavaro Neo 4 is a wonderfully comfortable and low-maintenance e-bike which, with its low and wide step-through design and comfortable sitting position, is suitable for anyone who likes to go out for a nice long recreational tour.
Comfortable sitting position and good shock absorption
The Mavaro Neo 4 electric bike is particularly suitable for comfortable rides in the city and country. As the handlebars are quite high in relation to the saddle and the two are not too far apart, you sit up straight. And the stem is adjustable to allow you to adjust your sitting position to make it just right for you. The front suspension is very smooth; add the 50 mm wide tyres and you will hardly feel any bumps. The sturdy frame also offers very precise steering, which will make every ride great fun.
Ideal touring bike with Bosch e-bike technology
Thanks to the positioning of the Bosch Performance Line motor and the in-frame battery, the centre of gravity of this Cannondale e-bike is right in the middle. This results in excellent handling. The mid-mounted motor delivers 65 Nm, more than enough for smooth rides across the city and for climbing the odd steep hill. The 625 Wh capacity makes the Mavaro suitable for commuting and longer recreational tours.
High-quality shifting and braking
When you're out for a long ride on your electric bike, you'll appreciate having plenty of gears. This is why Cannondale has opted for a smooth 8-speed Shimano Nexus hub gear that gives you a wide gear range, which is useful for climbing the abovementioned odd hill smoothly. When going downhill, you'll want access to powerful and well-modulated brakes. This is exactly what you get with the hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano. Even in heavy traffic, they provide an extra sense of security.
Subtle features galore
In addition to the components already addressed, the Cannondale Mavaro Neo 4 is equipped with lots of useful features and accessories. At the front there is not only a bright headlight but also an additional daytime running light, which is integrated into the frame and increases your visibility during the day. To make charging this electric city bike easy, the charging port has been placed high up in the frame so that you don't have to bend over. Getting on and off the bike will also go smoothly thanks to the low and wide step-through design.
Sporty looks and good finish
Although the bike is designed for comfort on longer rides, the Mavaro does have a sporty look. The colour scheme around the motor catches the eye and gives the bike a sleek look. This sleek look is enhanced by the robust downtube and minimalist design of the luggage rack. A further absolute eye-catcher is the aluminium mudguards, which make the Mavaro look sturdy and sporty, an e-bike you'll want to show off.
The combination of ultimate comfort, ease of use and sporty looks makes the Cannondale Mavaro Neo 4 an attractive bike. But it's the sense of quality you get from the very first metres that will certainly win you over.
The low and wide step-through frame makes getting on and off the bike easy. The frame has been designed using Cannondale's SmartForm technology, whereby the tube material is thicker at stress points and thinner where it can be, keeping the frame as lightweight as possible while retaining its strength. Also, extra attention has been paid to robust "smooth welds" and post-welding heat treatment to ensure the sturdiness of the welded frame. This results in a stiff frame with excellent handling. The front fork features HeadShok DL50 suspension with 50 mm of travel. If you don't inflate the tyres to the max, the suspension combined with the tyres will provide plenty of damping. The wheels have thru-axles for enhanced stiffness and tight steering.
E-bike technology
The Bosch Performance Line motor has 65 Nm torque, which is plenty for any type and level of terrain, from the city to the countryside, on the flat and in the hills. In combination with the 625 Wh PowerTube battery, the realistic range is estimated at 120 km. This takes into account a total weight of rider, luggage and bike of 110 kg, varying weather and terrain conditions, and varying use of the assist modes. In more adverse conditions the range will be less than 100 km, in favourable conditions it will be more.
Shifting and braking
The Shimano Nexus 8-speed shifting components are used on many city bikes. They shift smoothly and require little maintenance. The hydraulic disc brakes have 2 pistons per caliper. Compared to the 4-piston calipers found on some e-bikes, these calipers deliver slightly less, yet still plenty of braking power. The large 180 mm front disc brake rotor increases braking power and control of the front brake. This will make you feel confident when braking.
Lights
The integrated daytime running lights switch on automatically when the bike is switched on, making you clearly visible during the day. When the regular lights are switched on, the daytime running lights will dim. The head- and taillights are an Axa Compactline 35E and an Axa Blueline respectively.
Other parts
The bike has ergonomic grips and 680 mm wide handlebars with an ergonomic backsweep. This keeps your hands, wrists and elbows in a natural position, provided the bike is properly adjusted to your body. The Wave saddle is from Selle Royal's comfort line, aimed at lasting comfort during long rides.
