Just right
I have always ridden with KMC chains, but normally in combination with an SRAM PG-1070 cassette. This XT cassette also performs fine, although I did occasionally suffer from chain skipping. After 100 km this was over.

Particularly when the chain is skewed, I hear the sound that you expect only when the chain/sprocket is worn.

Super combination however
Back replaced everything so that "my old horse" shifts back like a young colt. Chain first neatly degreased and then waxed. Rather a Quick link with this KMC chain than the Shimano combo chain. That combined with 2 new front sprockets makes it complete and back good for many hours of cycling fun! Mantel is not always the cheapest on the net but it delivers quickly.
