pliers worked well to open the lock , when inserting the new lock in the new chain, a bit more force had to be applied which caused 1 pin of the pliers to break off, just used jaw pliers and it was a snap , so these pliers are no use .

Only needed for opening
When putting on the new chain, the quick release cannot be closed with these pliers because the paws do not fit between them. So just tap it on. Opening does work.
