There are a lot of similarities between the Oakley Sutro S and the normal Sutro, but there are some differences too. The Sutro S has a frame width of 132 mm, whereas the frame of the normal Sutro is 139 mm wide. However, the Sutro S is not an XS or child's version of the Sutro - it's simply a smaller version for adults, that is ultimately designed for men with small to average sized faces. Women with average to large faces will also find the fit of the Sutro S better. Beyond the width, there is another difference. The curvature of the lens on the Sutro S is reduced, in order to fit a smaller frame. As a result you don't loose coverage on the sides of the frame.
Frame and other technologies
The frame of the Oakley Sutro S Prizm is made from O-Matter. This stress-resistant frame material is extremely low weight, so you barely notice that you're wearing glasses. Despite being light weight, they're very durable and can handle a knock, so you can enjoy your Oakley Sutro S Prizm Sapphire's for a while. Thanks to the Unobtainium nose piece, these riding glasses will stay in place, even when you sweat.
Prizm Sapphire lens
The Prizm Sapphire lenses have a Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of 12%, perfect for bright sunlight. While the inside of the Prizm Sapphire lenses looks pretty neutral, the colours on the outside are really striking. The Prizm lens technology regulates the colours that you don't want to see - the sharpest and brightest colours are filtered to provide a better view. Colours appear warmer, with better contrast. This makes it much easier to see the detail around you, like road markings. And, above all, the effects of the Prizm Sapphire lens technology are put a whole lot less strain on your eyes, so you won't tire as quickly.
