Stable riding characteristics
The frame of the Cortina E-U4 Family M300 is similar to that of a normal transport bike. The frame is sturdy and the riding position is geared towards comfort and stability. And because this e-bike has a mid-motor, this E-U4 feels very stable. In fact, the center of gravity is fairly central in this bike. Both mother bikes and transport bikes are made for carrying a lot of stuff, whether it is luggage or your most precious possession; your children. Since the E-U4 Transport Family is a combination of both bike types, it does both well. The double stand and handlebar lock allow you to park the bike with confidence, knowing it won't fall over.
Bafang e-bike technology
One advantage of the Bafang motor system is that you can choose a very large battery capacity. This means you won't have to charge your battery as often. This also extends the life of the battery. Making this E-U4 one of the most durable electric bikes you can buy. And the fact that you don't have to charge your e bike after every ride is also an extra convenience. Moreover, the Bafang M300 motor delivers a considerable amount of power with 80Nm. Because of the way this power is delivered, this bike is more suitable for city use, but a family ride in a hilly area will not pose any problems.
Luxurious assembly
The rest of the components are at the level you would expect from a good city bike. Indeed, this e-bike features a 7-speed Shimano Nexus gear hub. The roller brakes stand for safety and are very reliable. There is also the chain guard with its good-looking colour, the mudguards, carriers and a great AXA lock. Providing everything you need for your daily rides.
This Cortina E-U4 Transport Family M300 is a great electric family bike to enjoy for years together with the whole family.

Quality at a budget price
Sturdy bike (so also heavy), great value for money. The colour green is really recommended, matt army green. The controls on the handlebars are child's play. With the double stand and the possibility of locking the handlebars, also a complete bike. Had it delivered by pandemic, nothing but praise for Mantel's customer support. Given the 80Nm motor, I recommend the biggest battery. The drivetrain works quietly along and feels like you have a tailwind all the time. The motor does make some noise at the highest pedal assist setting but it is not annoying. Besides, the parts problem for bafang motors is also no longer an issue. There is plenty available for any repairs. (Not that I expect this anytime soon) but, that was part of my selection process. To prevent any repair from ending up in a completely new (expensive) motor due to unavailable parts.
