A nice functional crate

The crate is mounted on my Hase Lepus. Now I can carry locks and tools. The 'S' is big enough for touring. A mackintosh, poncho, tyre packers and e-pump just go in there. Even my pimple with the nikon fits in it. And the 'Not Wrong Crate Cover Universal' lid keeps everything drier.

I recommend++.

Ideal for shopping and other transport needs

I bought the Basil crate long. I use this crate to carry parcels and groceries from town. The basket can be mounted both lengthwise and widthwise. I recommend mounting the large in the width. Installing it was a bit of a hassle. The adapter plate is not included, so you have to buy it separately. When installing it, there are 4 screws and 4 plastic caps to attach the crate to the adapter plate. The manual states that these should be tightened with max 2.5nm. This is, of course, very little. What I noticed is that the screws provided in combination with the black caps and the crate were too short to screw down the crate properly. What happens is that the black screws don't turn far enough into the adapter plate, causing it to pull the plastic of the adapter plate apart. I ended up omitting these black caps and replacing them with 4 body washers. This allows the screw to get in deeper and lock in tighter. However, you should be careful not to put too much weight on the left or right side, as your crate may sag too far because it only rests on the adapter plate and not on the luggage rack. In the photos you can see that I have panniers with mik system and mounted the mik double-decker on top of it, on which I can still slide the crate.
