Wide Narrow is the alternating use of narrow and wider teeth on the front chainring, which keep the chain stable and tight in 1 line, preventing the chain from falling off.
These Wolf Tooth Shimano XT M8000 chainrings come in 2 versions, which means that in addition to the original compatibility with an 11 or 12 speed Shimano crankset, you can also use them for 9 and 10 speed drivetrains.
