A crooked derailleur hanger?
A common problem is a warped derailleur hanger. This can be caused by the derailleur coming into contact with something hard, for example during a fall. Fortunately, this can be repaired! Find out more here.
Make sure you clean your derailleur pulleys too!
Like the chain, derailleur pulleys get very dirty. This makes for a less enjoyable ride and doesn't help with the durability of your drivetrain. Therefore, when cleaning the chain and / or oiling the chain, it is advisable to also clean the derailleur pulleys. Do this by gently turning the chain while you run a cloth along the derailleur wheel. However, at some point the derailleur wheels will be worn out. Visit our blog to find out when to replace your derailleur pulleys and which ones you need.
