Schwalbe Marathon E-Plus

This type of tyre is excellent for the type of use for which they were designed: hiking and travelling with trekking bikes, even with pedal assistance, on mainly asphalted surfaces or white roads without having problems with punctures. Their robustness also makes them suitable for high loads. The grip and smoothness are good on asphalt and white roads; I have not yet tried them on wet surfaces. You have to get used to them a bit, however, because they are quite stiff (even when inflated to the minimum recommended pressure) and therefore do not adequately absorb unevenness on the ground. I would therefore not recommend them for rough gravel trails. In addition, the weight makes itself felt when tackling climbs.

I want no whining and no punctures. On this tyre, on another bike, I have ridden many miles for 7 years without a hitch, I think about 100km a week without a puncture.

Due to tyre failure, I had replaced the front tyre on my front-wheel drive E-Bike with the Schwalbe Marathon E-Plus. After the first cycling kilometres, I was positively surprised . My bike had much better handling. Following this, I decided to replace my rear tyre and the tyres on my partner's bike as well.

The tyre is very suitable for an e bike. Comfortable and quiet even at higher speeds. And when cornering, the bike is much more directional.

I bought this tyre because my front tyre is also of this type , standard electr Veloretti has CST tyres , well this is a Super upgrade and anti-puncture. This tyre feels very stable , especially at high speeds. There was a steel wire right through the CST tyre. But this happened on Friday end of day and I wanted to go back to work with the bike on Monday and Mantel arranged it before 22.00 ordered , next day in house and without shipping , unbelievable!

Having already ridden 15000 km flat-free with these tyres myself, I have now also purchased them for my wife's e-bike.

Tyre was easy to put on. It even seemed a bit too big, but with an inner tube it is perfectly solid. Mark the direction of rotation with e.g. a crayon or something extra in advance because it is hardly visible on the tyre itself.

Tread is hard to stiff. You have to inflate them really hard or they will mop up (the idea of a flat tyre) and you won't have any suspension comfort.

Since I discovered this tyre, I never want anything else! Sturdy and durable tyre that has never had a puncture, despite my daily commutes through all weathers, over (good and bad) asphalt, cobbles, brine, mud and gravel. Rolling resistance is fine, and only in very cold weather and hard-inflated tyres is grip slightly reduced when making an emergency stop. This tyre takes you carefree everywhere until, after thousands of kilometres, it is finally time for a new one and you have almost forgotten that there is also an inner tube.

I have always had Marathon plus tyres on my Stella Ebike I cycle 5000 Km a year total of 26 Thousand Km ridden and once had a puncture then this tyre should do even better!

Tyre is a bit stiff, but fitting is not a problem as it slides loosely over the rim. The tyre is a bit thicker through though, which caused it to rub against the mudguard. So I had to mount the wheel slightly lower. Solid material, feels good!
