Pros & Cons
- The Dynamic Speed Potion Wax is a high-quality chain wax used by professional cyclists.
- As this chain wax is harder and more elastic, it retains its lubricating effect even at high wattage.
- When using chain wax you will find much less dirt on your chain; your chain will remain clean and last longer.
- As this wax contains 17% friction reducing additives, it reduces friction between the chain and chainrings, increasing efficiency.
- For the best results it is important that your chain is completely clean; we recommend using a chain cleaner or chain degreaser to achieve this.
- Although the Speed Potion Wax can be used in wet conditions, it is most efficient in dry conditions.

Developed for the strongest and best riders
Dynamic was asked to develop the ultimate lubricant that would allow drivetrains to perform optimally in situations of high power output and max effort, like those of World Tour cyclists. Dynamic is set to work and, in collaboration with pro cyclists and mechanics, developed Speed Potion Wax. Team Jumbo Visma uses this chain wax exclusively, with the goal of winning the Tour de France. Dynamic Speed Potion Wax consists of 17% additives that reduce the friction of the chain with the chainrings. As a result less power is lost and power transfer is more efficient.
Durability
Chain oils are such that they automatically flow back to the places in the chain where lubrication is needed. Wax, on the other hand, hardens and acts as a coating on the chain. However, once this coating has been displaced on the chain by high forces, it will no longer flow back. Dynamic has thought of this problem with the Speed Potion Wax and has come up with a solution. The Speed Potion Wax has a higher Brugger-value than other high-quality chain waxes, making this coating resistant to higher forces. Furthermore, the Speed Potion is very elastic, which means that once the coating has cured, it will stay in the right places in the chain for a lot longer. Even if you're pedaling at a very high wattage, such as while sprinting or climbing, the Speed Potion Wax will continue to do its job. This keeps your chain feeling noticeably 'smooth' for a very long time and your chain makes less noise while cycling.
The first application of Speed Potion Wax
Dynamic recommends two ways to apply the Speed Potion Wax for the first time. The first option is to apply a drop of the wax to each link of the chain on the inside and outside. Make sure that you do not use too little or too much, but apply enough wax so that the contact points of the chain are well lubricated.
The second option is to remove the chain from the bike and immerse it completely in Speed Potion Wax. Make sure that you make the air bubbles that occur during the immersion disappear by shaking well. Then let the chain dry thoroughly before you put the chain back on your bike.
Biodegradable
The Speed Potion Wax is completely biodegradable. This makes the use of this wax less harmful to the environment.
• Always store Speed Potion Wax with the lid on. If the wax comes into contact with air it will harden.
Application tips
• Shake the bottle well before each use. The air in the bottle can cause the wax in the nozzle to harden, and shaking the bottle will help to mix the wax properly again.
• Keep in mind that the wax needs to be applied at temperatures between 15 and 35 degrees Celsius. Once hard, the wax can of course withstand much higher and lower temperatures.
• It is recommended to use the Speed Potion at least 2 hours before the start of the ride. This gives the wax enough time to harden properly. For best results, it is recommended to apply the wax to your chain 24 hours before the start of the ride.
During-use tips
• The Speed Potion Wax has been developed for dry conditions, but can in principle also be used in wet conditions. However, if conditions are really wet, it's wise to use a non-wax based lubricant.

A practical must-have for anyone who loves their bike
This lubricating wax is ideal for anyone who wants to avoid oil and grease splashes on their garage floor.

Good product. Yet use sparingly.
Maybe I am a bit generous while applying the product? Hence wax deposits on the cassette,. Was less with Squirt.

Good marketing, way too expensive
There are better and a lot cheaper waxes on the market, but the marketing is fat. Bought following reports of sponsorship of the two tenors of cycling. I was curious, so I bought my most expensive bottle of bike lubricant ever. Tested it with dry and wet weather. Not impressed. Work as a metal worker myself, can tell you that bridging value is important for industrial lubrication, but unimportant for people, even top athletes. Also 17% friction-reducing additives says nothing either. Oil also already reduces friction and so are plenty of substances that are also in other lubricants. In other words, a wax that is far too expensive.

Top for dry conditions, less suitable for wet weather.
I applied the wax before a long ride. For the first few kilometres, I noticed that the chain ran noticeably smoother. However, the weather did not cooperate, causing a lot of water on the chain. This washed away the vast majority of the wax, which soon made the chain run more sluggishly.
