Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The Challenge Grifo Pro TLR is the all-rounder! From sand and grass to forest floor in both dry and wet conditions.
- The addition of Tubeless to these tyres makes them very reliable against punctures on bad roads with small stones.
- The cotton casing makes this tyre extra supple compared to other tubeless cyclocross and gravel tyres.
- Its classic look makes tubular tyres even more attractive to your bike.
- If the ground is extremely muddy, this tread may not provide enough grip.

The Challenge Grifo Pro TLR tyres are Challenge's most all-round tyres. Suitable for sand, grass and forest surfaces in dry and wet conditions. By lowering the tyre pressure they are even suitable for muddy conditions. The Challenge Grifo Pro TLR tyre becomes even more versatile by using the Tubeless Ready technology. This allows you to ride with even lower tyre pressure, giving you lower rolling resistance on unpaved terrain. It also gives you more comfort and grip in all conditions.
Smooth and low rolling resistance
This tyre has a cotton carcass on which the tread is glued. This cotton carcass makes the tyre very supple, which makes it easier to drive around corners.
The light studded tread pattern provides low rolling resistance but sufficient grip on both dry and wet surfaces. The rounded studs placed on the side of the tyre provide the necessary grip when cornering.
Originally a cyclocross tyre, but also very suitable for gravel
Originally a cyclocross tyre, the Challenge Grifo Pro has more than earned its stripes in this discipline. It has won many world championships, most recently Tom Pidcock's 2022 World Championship. But because of its low rolling resistance, suppleness and great grip, this tyre is also an excellent option for gravel. Many modern road bikes can handle tyre widths up to 35 mm, and then this Challenge Grifo Pro TLR is an excellent choice!

Tubeless Ready
These tyres are designed to ride without inner tubes. Adding latex when fitted to tubeless rims means that if you have a puncture you don't have to stop and have it repaired. The latex sealant in the tyre will fill small holes in these tyres in no time.
