Off the paved roads
The Marlin 8 gives you lots of fun off the paved roads. Take your mountain bike onto the gravel paths or try your first trails; you’re guaranteed to have a wonderful time!
If you're a serious novice mountain biker looking for a suitable bike, you should really check out the Trek Marlin 8.
The core of this MTB is its lightweight aluminium frame. The cables are routed through it and, as such, are protected against splashes of dirt. The Marlin 8 comes with a RockShox fork, which can easily be adjusted to your liking. The bike also has a lockout for adjusting the suspension travel to suit the surface. There is also the option of switching to tubeless riding to reduce the weight of the MTB as well as the risk of punctures.
Shifting and braking
Trek has chosen gears from SRAM. There are 12 gears which, with the cassette, give you a huge gearing range to allow you to climb any hill effortlessly and race down at great speed. The brakes are hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano. Hydraulic disc brakes give your mountain bike super braking power to ensure that you'll be able to stop when you need to, even on muddy trails.
Versatility
As well as being a real racing monster, this mountain bike is so much more. If you use the mounting points to attach a luggage carrier, for example, you can turn it into the perfect bike for your rides to school or work.

Good bike, dramatic delivery, cooperative service
After delivering a bike 2x that was not properly assembled, the 3rd was fine. Mantel does accommodate me but all would have been unnecessary (had to block a day up to 5x to pick up a bike one time and deliver the other) if the 1st bike had been properly checked. Mantel responds quickly and solution oriented but yes, you are 1 month away from getting your working bike. Because of this experience I will never order a bike online again and I don't think with Mantel either.
