As the watch body weighs just 35 grams, you will barely be aware of the Run's presence, from the first kilometre right through to bedtime. The new dual-band GPS tracks your route more accurately, the heart rate sensor has been improved, and the free offline maps show you the way in unfamiliar territory, without needing your phone.
A watch you forget you are wearing
Weighing just 35 grams, the watch's body sits so snugly against your wrist that after a while you no longer notice it, not even at night. With a stainless steel bezel, Gorilla Glass lens and 5 ATM water resistance, the Run 2 is ready for training, recovery and sleep, so you get a complete picture rather than a fragmented one.
Ultra-bright display
The 1.32 inch LTPS AMOLED display reaches 2,000 nits and is always easy to read; it only takes a quick glance, even in direct sunlight and without having to stop, to see your pace, heart rate and distance.
Dual-band GPS with five satellite systems
The Run 2 uses L1 and L5 signals from GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS. This means the recorded route is very close to what you have actually run, and you can rely on the displayed distance and pace when following a training or race plan.
12-channel heart rate sensor
The sensor behind the curved 2.5D glass picks up more of the signal from your wrist, ensuring your heart rate reading remains accurate during high-intensity intervals, sprints and long sessions in the heat, so the effort you feel matches what the watch measures.
EnergySense
This feature shows you in real time how hard you are currently working in relation to how much energy you have left. Consult it deep into a long run or in the second half of a race and it can help you decide whether to keep your pace, ease off or speed up.
Free offline maps
Download global maps to your watch before setting off. If you are running while on holiday or exploring a new route closer to home, you will see roads, place names and details of your surroundings right on your wrist, and the next turn will always be just a glance away. The same maps also come in handy on trail sections where the road ends.
When to choose this sports watch
- You want an ultra-lightweight watch that you can wear day and night, for training and recovery.
- You train to a plan and want accurate GPS and heart rate tracking to help you stay on track.
- You run while travelling or exploring otherwise unfamiliar routes and want to consult maps on your wrist, without needing your phone.
When to consider a different model
- You need even longer battery life, more sport profiles, or more extensive multisport functionality. If this is the case, upgrading to a higher-end model within the watch range makes sense.
- Download the offline maps before setting off so you can still use them in areas where there is no mobile signal.
- Wear the watch a little tighter during interval training and high-intensity workouts for most reliable heart rate readings.
- Give the watch a quick charge once a week to ensure your daily training history remains uninterrupted.
- After a sweaty or rainy training session, rinse the watch with clean water and dry it to keep the sensor and strap in good condition.
