Top pedal with dual purpose, so versatile
Easy to mount and everything is included, so incl. cleats. Double action, as a click pedal also with regular shoes. The bolts on the pedal can be adjusted for extra grip.

I am a big fan of the pedals and can definitely recommend them.
I drive the Mallet E and Mallet E LS pedals for several years and am still very satisfied. In the bike parks, the pedals have to put away quite a bit, because it can also happen that a stone is in the way. One-time contact is at least no reason to give way. I also find super that there are Refreshing Kits for the Crankbrothers pedals, which ensures many years happy if you care for them properly. --> Top

Best clip-in pedals when finally setup to my liking
A bit tricky to setup, many adjustments that are not easy to adjust on-the-fly. But when finally done, very comfy and durable pedal!! Included std cleats to high release angle for my liking.

Reliable
This is the second pair of Mallets I bought...the first one lasted me 4 years! So I can say that the fairly high price is completely repaid! Safe and durable.

Quality engineered pedal with good engagement & decent amount of support & grip when not clicked in
3rd pair of Crank Brothers, these replace a set of Mallet DH pedals that were about 15 years old. I use these on my EMTB for a mix of trail riding (some general cross country with some technical rocky & rooty and downhills). I also have a pair of Candy3 that are still running sweet and fine for light duty off roading but don't offer the foot support when things start to get technical and rough. The engagement with these is good, but perhaps not quite as positive as SPD from what I remember, but they offer more float to allow slight adjustment of you foot. The greater rotational movement before dis-engagement for me a good thing and something I'm used to. There are times when the extra movement stops accidental dis-engagement, it also allows you to move your foot for comfort. The mud-shedding design is well documented in other reviews and tests and I have had no problems when conditions get wet & muddy. The fact you can buy a bearing/refresh kit will also mean these pedals can be easily serviced and kept running like new for years to come.

Comfortable and grippy
Great pedals advantages of wing clipped in and grippy when your foot is out of the cleat.
