During your workouts or races, Edge displays all the data you need in real time on customizable data fields. You can sync your trainings and workouts with Garmin Connect or TrainingPeaks. In addition, the Edge provides daily workout suggestions based on your training load and your personal VO2 max. The Garmin ClimbPro feature gives you all the information you need about the climbs ahead of you, and with MTB Dynamics you get insight into your Flow and jumps while cycling on trails. If you ever forget to eat or drink on the road, the Garmin Edge 540 sends notifications during your activity so you always stay well fed and hydrated.
What are the advantages of the Garmin Edge 540 Bundle?
The advantage of the Garmin Edge 540 Bundle over the standalone bike computer is that the bundle comes with a heart rate monitor, speed sensor and cadence sensor. These accessories can be used to gather even more information about your workouts and improve your performance. By purchasing this bundle, you won't have to purchase these accessories separately and you'll be ready to start training right away with all the information you need. In addition, this bundle is cheaper than if you would buy the bike computer and accessories separately.
The Garmin Edge 540 features the new multi-band GNSS technology, which will always position you accurately, even in environments where this is very difficult.
Your personal coach
With daily recommended workouts and training prompts on the Edge 540's screen, you'll receive personalized coaching that adjusts based on your current training load, recovery and events.
Power Guide
The Power Guide feature manages your efforts and recommends power goals during a course.
Stamina insights
While cycling, you will receive insights into your stamina so you can keep track of how much "fuel" you have left.
Cycling Ability
The Cycling Ability feature will help you determine your strengths as a cyclist, focus on improvement and prepare you for the demands of a specific course.
ClimbPro
The ClimbPro feature of the Garmin Edge 540 shows you remaining distance and incline while climbing, allowing you to measure your effort.
New design
The Edge 540's updated design gives you quick and easy access to the information, routes and tools you need. You can customize data fields and screens from the Edge or via your smartphone.
Improved battery life
With up to 26 hours of heavy-duty battery life and up to 42 hours in battery saver mode, Edge 540 lets you ride farther and recharge less often.
Faster navigation
With the Garmin Edge 540, you'll always navigate flawlessly from A to B, thanks to preloaded bike maps, turn-by-turn navigation and sharp turn warnings. You can even easily load existing .gpx routes via the Garmin Connect app.
Incident detection
With the accident detection feature, Edge 540 automatically sends your location to contacts after an accident (both off-road and on the road) so you can receive help quickly.
Livetrack sessions
With LiveTrack sessions, you'll start directly from your Edge and let friends and family track your real-time location and even view the entire pre-planned route.
Varia compatibility
The Edge 540 is compatible with the Varia rearview radar and lights, so you can see oncoming traffic from behind and be highly visible yourself.

Incomprehensible device.
Sorry guys, but what a pity I went 'back' from Wahoo to Garmin. I did so because I was promised that Komoot and Garmin would work better together. Well that's a disappointment, and I just can't get the hang of this 540 as a whole. Have I become a Boomer? No. The menu structure, the (im)logic of the buttons, the weird links with the app, it's all so much more complicated than Wahoo. Really, I'm extremely bummed about this purchase. Anyone want to take m over? Or someone who has a ten-part "learn to understand and operate your Garmin 540" course on offer?
Pros & Cons
4 / 5
Good cycling GPS!
Clear road signage, if you have earphones in you get directions too! Other accessories easy to install. If you already have experience with Garmin, setting it up and using it is almost self-explanatory. However, there is no user manual on how to get routes on the GPS, for example.

Powerful measurement tool
A very powerful tool. Gps, BPM frequency, Power, Speed... Lots of statistics to help you progress and manage your route. Small improvements possible to define the route... A little complicated on this point.

Super comact and useful for bespoke training
The bike computer is ideal for the road cyclist who is already more experienced and likes to cover kilometres with the help of a bike computer. I myself can navigate through Friesland flawlessly and see all measurement data at once through my personalised data screen.
