Not a good product. Unfortunately, there’s no alternative.
After cleaning everything thoroughly and applying a little bit of antibacterial soap, the left-hand shifter cover slipped on very easily. The right-hand cover was much more difficult to fit, but once on, it sat nicely around the shifter. See photos. After opening the Mantelbox, I noticed that the original Shimano packaging had been opened. This may have been to check that the correct items were inside, as it weighs nothing and looks like an empty box. I don’t think any items have been swapped.

The cap was easy to install and fits seamlessly to the shifter. Installation was very easy using a little soap and water. Only downside is that the cap does not go all the way over the shifter connection, so you have to run the ribbon over the clasp well tightly when mounting your handlebar tape to cover the iron rings/connection.

I bought these covers as spares. Have 2 sets in stock now. Own 3 road bikes all still mechanical with rim brakes. at local road bike specialist almost no more parts available!!! Also bought at Mantel as spare 1 set of ultegra shiters 2 x rear derailleur and 1 x front derailleur
