Scott Spark 950

The Scott Spark 950 is a bike which almost sells itself when you take a look at what you get for your money. A modern aluminium frame with custom formed tubes, which have been machined in such a way that they're stronger at the crucial joints yet lighter where you can spare the weight. A full-suspension mountain bike often allows you to focus on conquering any obstacle without having to get off the bike. This takes precedence over a low bike weight or electronic groupset. The geometry of the bike determines how easily it can be handled by its rider. Fortunately, the Scott Spark 950 is an exact copy of its top of the range-brother when it comes to the geometry! With those epic handling characteristics at your disposal, you might just find yourself flying through corners faster than your buddies could manage on the straights...

29er Wheels
Often a hot topic amongst mountain bikers. Speedfreaks will swear by the large 29 inch wheels, but the technical daredevils often don't want to give up their trusty 26 inch wheels. Then there's the "in-betweener" at 27.5 inch, or 650b. So why go for the 29ers? Large wheels are simply more suitable to roll over objects, roots, and rocks. The larger wheel and contact patch reduce the relative size of the obstacle you wish to conquer. Our cars roll over a can of coke easier than over an oil drum. Give us a monstertruck however, and that oil drum is no longer a problem because of the huge wheels.

Adjustable Bottom Bracket Height
Just when you thought your bike couldn't get more custom because of the Fox Nude Shock, Scott ups the ante with a brand new technology on the Scott Spark 910. The rear damper is attached to the frame with a set of special bushes, which can be flipped around and mounted in a different position. This either raises or lowers your bottom bracket slightly, depending on what sort of terrain you're tackling. Technical trials might be slightly easier with the bottom bracket raised up slightly, while fast flat courses with swooping turns might ask for a lower centre of gravity. By being able to change the centre of gravity, you find yourself riding the perfect bike for any sort of terrain you can reach!

Note: All the bikes sold by Mantel come with the front brake on the left, and the rear brake on the right of the handlebar. If you’re accustomed to another set-up, then consider having this changed by an expert, or take your time to get used to the current set-up.
