The BL-M9220 brake lever is designed to put you in a natural riding position. With a 5 degree rise and a modified grip width, it will make you feel more confident on technical passes. This brake lever offers not only functionality but also an increased sense of safety so you can attack the most challenging trails with confidence.

Redesigned SERVO WAVE technology reduces brake lever friction so you can benefit from an optimal power curve. This means you can brake quickly and effectively without losing power. The new low-viscosity mineral oil ensures that braking power remains consistent regardless of temperature or terrain. This makes the BL-M9220 ideal for both daily rides and technical trails.

The BR-M9220 caliper is the most powerful one in the M9200 family, designed for maximum control and consistency on any trail. The four-piston caliper provides extra power, ideal for tricky and steep off-road descents. The brakes have a DH power curve, optimised for endurance riding.
Low-Viscosity oil
Shimano's new Low Viscosity brake oil is a new version of the existing mineral brake oil. The biggest improvement in the Low Viscosity oil is better performance at low temperatures. Please note: The two types of oil cannot be mixed!

Fully customisable thanks to I-Spec EV
These Shimano XTR M9220 disc brakes are fully customisable. Equipped with Shimano's I-Spec EV mounting system, they allow for the position of the brake lever and the shifter to be adjusted completely to your liking. An additional advantage is that you only need one clamp to mount shifting and brake levers. Also, the brake lever comes with options to customise the distance between it and the handlebar.
