The Garmin Varia UT800 / RTL510 Radar Lightset consists of the popular Garmin Varia UT800 headlight and the Varia RTL510 Radar rear light.

Garmin Varia UT800
The Garmin Varia UT800 is versatile due to its 800 lumens light beam. The Garmin Varia UT800 front light has a GoPro mount and can be attached to your handlebar with a Garmin bike mount. This innovative Garmin bicycle lighting automatically adjusts to ambient light, speed and ride profile to extend battery life. In addition to this, the Garmin Varia UT800 front light can be connected via Bluetooth to your Garmin Edge bike computer, or for example a compatible Garmin watch, to turn it on or off.

With the Varia UT800 you can easily adjust your light beam. Varia UT800 has 5 light modes; high (800 lumens), medium (400 lumens), low (200 lumens), flashing night (100 to 300 lumens) and flashing day (more than 700 lumens). At full power, this light is visible at a distance of more than 1.6 km.

Garmin Varia RTL510 Radar
The Garmin Varia RTL510 radar sees that what you don't. The new Varia RTL510 features a slimmer design, improved 10-hour battery life and safety features. While you're cycling, you're occupied with what’s happening in front of you. That's why the Varia warns you of vehicles approaching from the back from a distance of up to 140 metres. In addition, you are perfectly visible to the traffic coming from behind, both during the day and in the evening. The rear light has a range of 220 degrees.

The warnings can easily be read from a paired radar screen or a compatible Garmin device. For example, the Varia can indicate the extent to which the traffic behind it poses a danger. Green light means: Nothing wrong. Orange light: A vehicle is approaching. Red light: A vehicle is approaching at high speed. Drive carefully! In addition to the visual warnings, it is also possible to receive an audio message.

Most bicycle accidents are caused by traffic coming from behind. This is a real danger. That is why extra security to warn you of approaching traffic from behind is not a superfluous luxury.
