Gates belt with Alfine 8 hub

The belt runs over a 46-tooth chainring and requires no lube, so your hands and trouser legs stay clean. The 8 gears are housed within the Alfine hub, which you operate using a twist grip and which also allows you to change gears while stationary.

Frame designed for a belt drive

An eccentric bottom bracket (EBB) and a split rear dropout make it possible to fit the belt without having to cut it. That is why a belt drive is so hassle-free.

Hub dynamo lighting

The Acid hub dynamo in the front wheel generates power for the head and tail lights; the latter is housed in the mudguard. As soon as you start biking, the lights come on.

MTB-inspired frame

The frame uses double-butted aluminium tubes that are thin where possible, and thick where necessary. This results in a frame that is light, strong and responsive, with the direct handling you would expect from a hardtail.

• Clean the belt occasionally with water and a soft brush. Do not use any lubricant or degreaser, as the belt does not need them.
• With an Alfine hub, it is best to change gears when not applying heavy pressure to the pedals; this makes for a smoother shift and is better for the hub.
• Adjust the kickstand to the correct length so that it remains stable when you are loading the bike with luggage.
• Have the disc brakes checked annually, especially if you use the bike frequently.
