Pros & Cons
- A Thermoplastic Polyurethane inner tube is more elastic and about 70% lighter than a standard Butyl inner tube.
- An impressive 35 grams on the scale and just as puncture resistant as a Butyl inner tube!
- This inner tube is also much more compact to carry and suitable for rim brake and disc brake wheels.
- Make sure to replace this tube very carefully, as it would be a shame if your more expensive inner tube breaks before even using it..

Impressive weight
Because this inner tube is made of TPU, it has an impressive weight of just 35 grams. By comparison, a butyl inner tube can easily weigh 100 grams more. This mean that this is one of the cheapest ways to shave 100 grams off the weight of your bike - with two of these tubes, it's even 200 grams!
Rides like tubeless
The Pirelli P ZERO SmarTUBE is an evolution for cyclists using a standard clincher setup, but still want to experience the weight advantage of tubeless and improve their performance. This inner tube is also much more compact to carry as a spare tyre for a tubeless setup or in general. These tubes are compatible with both disc and rim brakes - a big advantage over latex tubes.

Not pressure-resistant and way too expensive!
Bought as an alternative to tubeless. Rolls well. Tyres are very light, but it's better to lose a kilo yourself instead of buying these things. I had hoped they would hold their pressure better than Schwalbe SV20, but it's dirt cheap (especially considering the hefty price). SKS floor pump constantly pops off the valves, where this does not happen with Schwalbe or Bontrager inner tubes. And that doesn't help when you have to inflate them every time before cycling. Delivery was also poor, one of the boxes was completely broken. Suspect this was the case before shipping. All in all, the mis-buy of the year. Hope the technology develops further, as I do believe in this. For now, back to Schwalbe.

Very best product
Very nice products but a little too expensive

Not very happy
Mounting with two new tires 400 km front puncture 600 km rear puncture

Structural failure
I managed to get a flat on a ramp just by putting too much weight on the rear wheel. The tube just didn't hold air anymore, and I got a rapid pressure loss. I guess if you are careful not to stress the tube too much it won't happen to you. But it can be a bump or a pothole that causes this, which is something that won't happen to a classic tube. Better carry on wheel extra 70-80gr rather than pay 5-6 times more for a bit of weight advantage with this kind of risk.
