Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • The Schwalbe G-One R Pro is ideal for use on gravel, asphalt and dry forest trails.
  • The Race Pro carcass couples a double-layer tread and triple-layer sidewalls for flexibility, speed and control.
  • The Boomerang tread increases traction when climbing and control when cornering or descending.
  • The clever combination of traction, flexibility and rolling resistance makes this the perfect all-rounder.
  • Due to its properties, this tyre is less suitable for wet forest trails or other extreme surfaces.

Fast but hard-wearing!

- Patrick 8 December 2025

On fitting, I soon noticed that there were drops of sealant sweating here and there from the sides of the tyre. After a few days, this stopped completely. The tyre rolls wonderfully. Both on and off the road. Very fast! Almost never do I lack grip on "normal" gravel paths. Only on smoother singletracks do I have to pay attention. The tyre does wear faster than I am used to. On my previous tyres, I had less tread wear damage at the same mileage. This is particularly noticeable on the rear tyre. The studs in the middle soon became less tight and some have already half disappeared. Fortunately, the tyre still rides fine. In 1300-1500km it had only one real puncture on a big thorn and some small punctures. Everything was sealed by the sealant (the thorn only after removal). Some small cuts in the tread but not through the casing.

Not reliable enough

- Ricardo 7 December 2025

It is a very fast tyre with enough grip on sand. Puncture resistance is unfortunately really poor. Today punctured for the 3rd time in 6 months! I bike with the right pressure on mostly simple gravel and asphalt.... That's more frequent punctures than the 5 years before.

Grip, speed and ultimate handling in 1 tyre.

Great tyre on your front wheel, grip and yet fast. The ideal combo with the Schwalbe G-one RS pro you mount at the back.
