Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The Schwalbe G-One R Pro is ideal for use on gravel, asphalt and dry forest trails.
- The Race Pro carcass couples a double-layer tread and triple-layer sidewalls for flexibility, speed and control.
- The Boomerang tread increases traction when climbing and control when cornering or descending.
- The clever combination of traction, flexibility and rolling resistance makes this the perfect all-rounder.
- Due to its properties, this tyre is less suitable for wet forest trails or other extreme surfaces.

The Schwalbe G-One R Pro is Tubeless Ready (TLR), which means converting to riding with tubeless tyres has never been easier. By adding liquid latex sealant you will make the tyre more puncture resistant; in case of a puncture you can trust that the latex seals the hole within seconds, allowing you to continue cycling.
The G-One R's tread is Schwalbe's first model without round knobs; the goal of this design was to create the best uphill grip and handling. The boomerang-shaped studs ensure high grip when cornering while keeping rolling resistance low.
Race Pro carcass
The Schwalbe Race Pro carcass offers increased puncture protection and improved rolling resistance without added weight. The turn-up construction with three sidewall layers and a wide V-Guard anti-puncture layer provides excellent protection against snakebites and cuts. Plus the double carcass layers underneath the tread guarantee a smooth and comfortable ride, perfect for top performance on any type of terrain.
Tubeless Ready!
Schwalbe is strongly convinced that tubeless is the tyre technology of the future. And so they make sure that all tyres with TLR indicator have been optimised for riding without an inner tube. The carcass's design has also made mounting the tyre much easier.

Almost perfect
Rolls well both off-road and on the road, unfortunately puncture on the carcass which was not sealed by the sealing milk
2 / 5
The poor puncture resistance makes the tyre unsuitable for a chamber configuration.
I chose these tyres (45mm version) to ride on asphalt and gravel trails, including forest trails that are easily tackled with a gravel bike or MTB. The product looks pretty good: aesthetically pleasing, easy to install, lightweight, low rolling resistance on both asphalt and gravel, excellent grip on dirt and gravel roads. By adjusting the pressure correctly, riding comfort is optimal even on rough terrain. They are not suitable for muddy terrain and should be used on predominantly dry ground. Unfortunately, contrary to the manufacturer's claims, these tyres have poor puncture resistance, so much so that they are practically unusable with an inner tube (even a latex tyre). In my case, I had no fewer than three punctures in the space of 150 kilometres, most of them on asphalt and gravel roads and a few kilometres on rougher gravel. The punctures were all caused by very small pins (width < 1mm); latex tyre tubes partially solve the problem but do not provide safety with this type of tyre. I should add that one of the tyres had a transverse cut of about 5mm on the tread, which fortunately did not reach the chamber. Given the low mileage, I consider the tread to be too delicate for the intended use. I gave 2 stars because I did not try the tubeless configuration, as my rims are not compatible. I cannot therefore rule out the possibility that they might be optimal in a tubeless configuration, otherwise the rating would have been 1 star.

An excellent tyre, grippy and rolling
I recently switched to these bike tyres, and I couldn't be happier with their performance! The grip is exceptional, offering excellent traction on both wet and dry surfaces. They look tough, but I haven't had enough experience with them yet, but in 2 outings, they've got quality written all over them. The ride is smooth and comfortable, making long distances enjoyable. These tyres have really improved my cycling experience, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliability and superior quality.
