Description
The Shimano Deore BR-MT200 caliper is a replacement part or upgrade for basic disc brakes on your mountain bike or hybrid bike. The design of the Shimano BR-MT200 caliper ensures that braking force is carefully adjusted, especially aimed at novice riders. Say goodbye to unwanted, squeaking or touching brake pad noise and go for reliable, quiet braking performance. Thanks to a 40% wider distance between the brake pad and the brake disc, you experience less friction while riding, resulting in quieter and longer-lasting braking performance.
Fast and Easy Installation
Simple, quick and straightforward installation is further facilitated by the ONE WAY BLEEDING system and the fact that this brake uses the proven SHIMANO hydraulic mineral oil. Experienced mechanics and Do It Yourself bike enthusiasts alike will appreciate the streamlined installation procedure.
Sustainable and Reliable
The BR-MT200, with a solid black finish, is not only compatible with synthetic brake pads but is also designed to be sturdy and reliable. Equipped with 2 pistons and post-type bolt mounting, this brake is made to be reliable in all conditions.
Flexible Compatibility
Available in both a 160mm (S) and a 180mm (M) compatible brake disc size, it allows you to adapt your equipment to your specific riding style and terrain. Combine it with recommended brake levers BL-MT201 or BL-MT200 and recommended disc brakes SM-RT10 or SM-RT26 for optimal performance.
Set off with the assurance of top quality braking performance. Choose the SHIMANO BR-MT200 and make every ride a safe and exciting adventure.
Shimano's 'One Way Bleeding' system, also used in their XT disc brakes, ensures that the entire braking system remains closed and air-free. In a hydraulic braking system, pressure is provided by oil. The key to optimal braking performance is preventing air from entering this system, which can lead to a spongy braking feel and reduces the effectiveness of your brakes.
Simplified
Bleeding, or venting, is a crucial process to remove air bubbles from the hydraulic system. With Shimano's system, you refill oil at the bottom, near the caliper, while the bike is positioned so that the caliper is the highest point. This naturally allows air bubbles to rise up through the system and escape.
Please note: This caliper comes without brake line.
• Remove the protective rubber and cap from the Di2 lever and place a container for the oil.
• Remove the brake pads and place a spacer between the pistons to prevent movement.
• Attach a syringe filled with mineral oil to the caliper and let the oil flow through the system, pushing the air bubbles upwards, into the collection tray.
• When no more air bubbles appear, close the system and remove the syringe.
