Pros & Cons
- The Pirelli P Zero Race TLR RS is Pirelli's ultimate tyre and was developed in collaboration with World Tour Teams.
- The SmartEVO 2 compound optimally combines perfect grip and maximum speed.
- This RS version has a lower rolling resistance (-16%) and is lighter (-8%) than the P Zero Race TLR tyre.
- Improved fit to wheel rim due to the redesigned bead thread, for an easy and realiable tubeless set-up.
- This tyre is tubeless-ready. The 28, 30 and 32 mm versions are compatible with hookless rims.
- With its main focus on speed, grip and comfort, this tyre compromises somewhat on durability.

SmartEVO 2 compound
The SmartEVO 2 compound is Pirelli's most advanced racing compound and consists of three different polymers, which are combined perfectly to ensure the best possible performance. It provides fantastic grip as well as a low rolling resistance, and is used by professional Lidl-Trek cyclists, among others. You'll have perfect control over your bike, whatever the weather.
SpeedCore design
SpeedCore is a unique, high-performance tubeless-ready design from Pirelli, featuring an aramid layer in the tyre's rubber.
This structure provides both strength and support, as well as ensuring comfortable and smooth cycling by minimising rolling resistance and maximizing grip. This, combined with a 120 TPI nylon carcass, provides optimal puncture resistance.
Test results
This tyre has improved greatly compared to the previous P Zero Race TLR tubeless road bike tyre, both in terms of speed and weight. The latest tests show that the P Zero Race TLR RS tyre has a 16% lower rolling resistance compared to its predecessor, and weighs an impressive 8% less. For example, the 28 mm version weighs in at a mere 290 grams!
Tubeless-ready
The P Zero Race TLR RS can be used both with tubes and tubeless, which is of course the fastest, lightest option. The new TLR design increases puncture resistance and speed. Plus, this tyre features a newly designed bead which fits even better onto modern rims. In all, this is a perfect, airtight tyre that's both reliable and easy to fit.
• 700x26c / 26-622: 270 g
• 700x28c / 28-622: 290 g
• 700x30c / 30-622: 310 g
• 700x32c / 32-622: 340 g
The weight as stated by the manufacturer may differ from the tyre's actual weight. This deviation is generally small and is caused by manufacturing process variations.
• The 28-622 (28 mm) version and wider tyres (30, 32 mm) are suitable for hookless rims. Please note make sure not to exceed your rim's maximum tyre pressure!

For those for whom maximum grip and minimum rolling resistance are top priority!
Excellent race tyre for fast club races/gran fondos where you really want to get the most out of it. This year I rode several gran fondos and the World Championship gran fondo with them. Here they rode wonderfully, never felt out of control, and where necessary they never had a puncture. Now in autumn, with more rubbish on the road, they did have a few punctures on training rides.

Best tyre I have ever driven on
Absolutely wonderful tyres, rolls easily and gives a nice feeling of grip and comfort

Made too tight, doesn't fit.
Tyre will not fit on rim even with tyre pliers. Save yourself the trouble. Can't get it on even with tyre pliers. Damaged rims though.

Mantel should send all those 1st production tyres back Pirelli.
I have been riding the Pirelli P Zero Race TLR tubeless for years. Have also been building my own race bikes for years. Since I needed to change my rear tyre, I bought the new RS version. New tyre is lighter and better rolling resistance. However, after 1 hour I gave up trying to get it on the carbon rim. Even with extra tyre pliers it didn't work. While it should be easier than the previous version, the TLR race by Pirelli. Had read on the internet that the 1st production series does not fit. To the production number 1324 ( 13 the week year 2024 ) so it was the 1st production. Swapped again for the old version. This one did fit using the tyre pliers. Will wait till other production to try again then.
